Well, after the tottenham photo was put up it was nice to see Alty in different years
This might have been thought of / done but what about a book pf photo or photo with various stories of games - people could submit photos and various memories of trips or people (such as those of kenny), bet there are thousands and thousands of photos, and great memories
The cost of printing could be covered by selling (relevant) advertising, with in the book or just use the money from the book sale to cover cost
Has something like this been done? Not a book about the club, but about the fans?
-
£5.99 to create 100 page books with custom covers
-
Good idea. I'd certainly buy one.
Could do a raffle to choose cover shot? Sponsorship to be co-editor?
There's been some cracking pics over the years. They're even better when someone recounts a tale with them.

Yes, totally agree
- maybe even asking ex / current players to name their favorite away game ect...
I've only been watching alty away properly this year, and for quite a bit last season and Ive heard many a tale of away trips, would be a nice way of celebrating our 100 years at Moss Lane and a keep sake for alty fans now to show their future kids or younger fans of the future.
I though itd be best to keep it simple and perhaps limit it to just away games, maybe top 20-50 games?
This (unlike the ideas in previous threads) wouldnt actually need the clubs go ahead, it could be written by the fans, with the profits going to the clubs
at $5.00 a book (1oo pages,60 colour pages hardback with a custom colour) - Im sure most fans would pay 10-20 - meaning if we sold 200 - it'd cost £1000 to make them, and then between 1,000- and 3,000 for the club
Totally agree
-
There's 206 people that have read this
how Many would buy one?
How many would be interested in helping create this?
Who thinks it's a non starter - or a good idea?
Any other thoughts?
-
I'd buy one if it took off as i think it's a great idea. Even though i've been travelling away quite regularly for 20 years now i wouldn't be able to contribute much though as my memory is shocking!
-
I also think it's a very nice idea.
I nominate Ballers for everything.

:) Seconded Jimmy

I'm surprised the club didn't release "A Century at Moss Lane: The official history of Altrincham FC"
100 page book documenting the top 100 moments in our history.
Number 99 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nquVY6Wx_GQ)
Number 100 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noCi1z6p2x8&NR=1)
-
Apart from the friendly with macc what else did the club do?
-
Having paid 8 squid for an Alty 2011 calendar, a 100 page book for anything under £20 seems an absolute steal !
A limited edition (100 copies only) history of Altrincham FC to commemorate 100 years at Moss Lane should be a winner ? Especially if it was signed by two or three legends.
Chapters on the the club's history could be interspersed with individual chapters on players (and fans) most memorable match or general memories of life at Moss Lane in different eras.
I'd go for that.
-
Good idea.

I would definitely buy one and I think it would be a brilliant fundraiser! It would need some excellent research to be done in order to trawl through the archives and find some rare photos from the big matches we've played over the years.

Probably should have been started a few years back, in order to be ready - however no time like the present
-
count me in for a copy!
-
How about if we say charged £20 for the book however it included a DVD - say a countdown of the best 25 goals or top 25 altys legend (have their profile in the book then some footage on a DVD within ) - a recordable DVD costs say 40p
-
So this is what I've come up with so far :- based on the a4 book
Foreword - perhaps an Alty legend (2)
Intro (2)
Breif history (3)
Stats of leagues Ect.. (3)
Top 20 best games (50) - page on the days plus photos
Best Alty XI ( 12)
Top 10 worst games - (20)
-
Do we need "Worst games" if this is a celebration of Alty?
-
I'll have one.

Maybe we should put it in there as a reminder that things arent so bad in times like these

how is all that going to fit onto 1 page?
-
Good idea. I'd buy one.
-
Would this be ok within the book :-
So for the Alty XI
1 page , is a a pitch with the team on in like a formation, then round the pitch would be say 12 sponsors ?
Then the other 11 pages show a player profile /photos/ bits of info

I'd be a bit wary of flogging our sponsors for all they've got, with every initiative that comes up. From a marketing perspective, this is no new route to market and likely to be purchased by the more engaged supporter, who is already well aware of who the club's partners are.

i Meant sperate sponsors
