I noticed an ever growing pile of boxes near the market waiting for someone to take them away.

WYTHENSHAWE Hospital has confirmed the condition of a man found collapsed in Altrincham is stable.

This was after David O'Kell, known locally as Market Dave, was discovered unconscious on Huxley Street near Homebase.

Police were informed that a passer-by had found the victim lying in the bushes on April 9 at around 11pm.

Officers attended and Mr O'Kell, 67, was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital with a head injury. He was later transferred to Hope Hospital and was later discharged and placed back at Wythenshawe.

Inquiries later established Mr O'Kell was earlier drinking in the Railway Pub in Broadheath.

Mr O'Kell was unable to tell police how he sustained his injuries.

Two teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with this.
