So what was the chocolate coloured kit like then cult?

as if you'd go and see the streissmistress when there's footy on at ML!!!

Bury's kit combination of chocolate brown and light blue was almost as offensive to the eye as a signed photograph of Dave Ryan.

Didn't Coventry City wear something equally hideous and brown in the 1970s?

First impressions of the new faces:

Tinson and Lane: solid and steady but didn't have a great deal to do;

Sedgemore: very quiet game;

Berkeley: only played for the first 45 minutes and made little impression, to be honest;

Baguley: second half only but a decent showing - looks to have more promise than his brother!

Coo: major drawback - he's right-footed!

Whether to travel to the MEN Arena and pay £500.00 for a ticket to see Barbra Streisand.....or walk to Moss Lane and study Bury's chocolate-coloured away kit for free.

Any suggestions?

He looked pigeon-toed to me....

....and I have to say that he was sporting a good suntan.

Perhaps not quite as impressively bronzed as the likes of Ronnie Ellis, Barry Whitbread, John Davison and Phil Power in their pre-season heyday....but the signs are encouraging....

Ah, but is the person an Alty fan?  Gotta be the main question?

American, of Scottish blood, liking the Irish band, the Water boys - and a Robin??

TA,

I suspect that he is a Bamber Bridge supporter.....and does not have Fisherman's Blues on his iPod.....

Warren Peyton is a wonderful left back. I'm sure if he's asked to play their again, he won't let us down.

We need a specialist left full back!

I want to see Peyton on the left side of midfield, pushing forward and getting some crosses in.

Oh its ok I'll just go and get a left back from tesco .. .can't believe we've not been looking at signing one ....

The left backs on sale at Waitrose are of a much higher quality.

Yep - proved a very good stand-in.  Any others in the background?

Ian Senior must be available at short notice!

Thats your opinion and mine is that he is still good enough for a squad place. haven't really seen him play upfront for a while so can't comment on if he's good enough in that position.

Thornley was probably most effective last season when deployed out on the left wing.

He played as a central striker at Tamworth (after Joe O'Neill's injury) and at home to Aldershot but the old magic just seemed to have deserted him in my eyes.

I think that the knee problems he suffered deprived him of the crucial extra yard of pace that he possessed during his early years with Alty.

always left the pitch knackered due to all the running about.

I suspect that this was more the result of him not being fully fit!

As I stated earlier, he's contributed a huge amount to this football club....but I just don't see him as a viable alternative forward at this level next season.

The last time I looked Richard Acton was still on standby....

Thornley is best on left wing

But cannot last for 90 minutes.

Put sentimentality aside....we need to bolster our attack.

Would make an ideal defensive/midfield player for us,after looking at the squad we could do with as many multi-role players as possible.Bringing back Ellender would be like having cover for two or three positions, surely we have more to offer than Gainsborough Trinity.

I believe that the pie and peas at Gainsborough are held in high esteem.
