After 25 games (same amount we've played now) we had 31 points (4 less than now).

Am I correct that the last time we actually got demoted we were in 10th position in Feb, didnt play for about 6 weeks, and only picked up 2 points in the final 8 games played in a very short period?

I'm not sure on the exact time period but we did go a long time without playing a game. Also, just to exacerbate things further, our goalkeepers kept getting injured. We've not quite reached that kind of crisis point yet but it serves as a stark warning that you're never safe until you're over the finshing line (and even then some pikey club from Lancashire can land you with a ridiculous 18 point deduction).

Was that the year Ian Senior played in the Cheshire Cup Final for us?

Indeed it was, 1999-00 season, where we drew about 500 league games or something. Fondly remembered in the main for taking 4 points off Vics over Christmas and sod all else IIRC. Richard Landon too of course.

Let's hope Torquay get a tough draw this afternoon.

If they win their F.A. Cup 4th Round Tie then our game at Plainmoor on Valentine's Day will be moved.........probably to the traditional Tuesday night ::)

that will remind people who will think we are all but safe already that we arent, any further injuries or postpotements and we could be knackered.

Oh yes we were still "safe" in March iirc.

19 draws in the end, kept walking away from away matches thinking "great point".

Oh and it was "Dickie" Landon or as I remember him as "Last minute Lando".

They've drawn Coventry at home which i wouldn't be majorly surprised if they won

Weather looks appalling for this week! More cancellations across the country I fear.  :(

Kettering face Tiverton Town in their FA Trophy replay on Wednesday evening (and must be favourites to win), so our scheduled visit to Rockingham Road on 31st January 2009 looks to be in severe jeopardy.
