The new pitch - and today's weather

It would be interesting to see some photos early this evening to show how the pitch has coped with this afternoon's torrential thunderstorms. If this had been a match night last season we'd be postponed for sure.

Has that time capsule surfaced in the centre circle like the Ark of the Covenant yet?

Did Jeb the goat (1930s mascot buried at the corner of the golf road and pop side) turn up?

My back garden in Timperley had puddles on it for the first time in over 20 years.Trip back from Nantwich on Tuesday after the game was horrendous. Glad to make it home.

We were up in Sale today looking at golf clubs for Jan, and on the way back we nipped to Moss Lane and took a peep at the pitch. It looked, as-expected, in great condition.

We had lunch at The Greyhound in Ashley, on the way home and the food was excellent..

There is no rain here in Edgbaston so no need to deploy it
