Will amend this during the day. Two decent results in terms of our playoff prospects last night
-
Just looking at the final six games Chorley will do well to end up champions even with the points in hand
-
Know i'm a bit pedantic, but isn't our max points possible 87 rather than 89?
-
Quiet right, I’ll amend
-
Updated with this weeks results. Stil wide open, anyone from about 14th upwards could all arguably gate crash the playoffs. Curzon have recently had a decent run so we will have to be at our best on Saturday and hopefully claim three points. The Chester fixture is shaping up to be a big game the Saturday after

Need to move Telford to after Alfreton on our fixtures mate.

Looking at the previous 8 seasons in CN.
7th: Max 73 pts Min 63 pts Average 66.25 pts. Stockport finished 8th in 2017 on 73 pts
5th: Max 78 pts Min 69 pts Average 73.25 pts
3rd: Max 85 pts Min 72 pts Average 78.75 pts
I would say 15 points from our last 9 games will probably put us in a top 7 place

the title looks like it could be decided in the 3rd last games of stockport chorley and chorley speny.....

Can see Hereford winning that. Fancy a draw Spenny v BPA
-
We could do with Hereford getting something out of Brackley. I really don't think BPA will get anything out of Spenny. 4th is the aim now. That would give us a real fighting chance of achieving the unthinkable.

4th would probably give us a home game v kiddy bpa /telford if one of them finish 7th followed by a trip to spenny /chorley/county/brackley if we winithe first play off game. But lets just finish as high as possible and take it from there
-
Hereford draw a lot of games - three in their current five game unbeaten run. The only team team to beat Brackley in the league since Christmas are Chorley. A draw would be good, but I suspect Brackley will sneak it.
I'd happily settle for Spennymoor seeing Bradford off.
-
Stating the obvious no doubt, but it's going to lash it down most of this week, hope pitch will be OK, covers can be of some use etc..
-
Spennymoor v bupa is off

... as is Hereford v Brackley

Updated 17/3/19, Kidderminster drag everyone a bit closer together. Spennymoor host BPA in a key game on Tuesday if they can get in on. It’s a shame we cannot rearrange something for a week on Tuesday. Boston now out of the running realistically

I'm at the Southport BPA game today. Jake Beesley is giving the home team a torrid time.

Why do BPA keeping winning?
They drew 2-2

God only knows how Southport scored 2, but they did.

Good result yesterday Kiddy losing. We can virtually knock them out of contention with a win next Saturday bearing in mind our far superior GD too. Very much beginning to get the sense Brackey will be very hard to beat in the play offs. As for the title think all of County’s games will catch up with them now and I see Chorley comfortably crossing the line in first place.
-
The pressure is very much on stockport now, they have an easier run in on paper, but one slip up and it’s pretty much over. We need to be moving heaven and earth to try and secure third place. Brackley are in good form, as are bpa, but Spennymoors late wobble
Has left the door open for third place.

Should that happen, and I really hope that it doesn’t, the meltdown on County’s forum would be something special. They’ve served their time down here now and haven’t adopted the Billy BB attitude that many do. Also, I really wouldn’t want to meet them in the playoffs.

I think the manner of the defeat to Fylde will. Have them playing conference North football next year

I can picture us beating them on penalties at Edgeley Park in the play off final.

Is that why AFC Fylde players were attacked by County fans on Saturday who ran on the pitch after Fylde scored a last minute winner?!

Every club has idiots we had Dennis and Dave lol

By and large County fans are very good.
Perhaps you had also forgotten what happened at what was arguably their last ‘biggest game’ before Saturday, and their last game in the Conference? When a number of Stockport ‘fans’ invaded the pitch at Kidderminster when they went 1 down, to attack both sets of players, and the ref had to take the players off the pitch for over half an hour.
I’d take promotion out of regional football at all costs but achieving it via a dramatic win at Edgeley Park, and hoping they take it well, wouldn’t be my first preference.
-
I'm quite surprised to read that County fans can turn nasty... Like others who have commented on here I always had them down as a decent lot.
-
The ones that go week in, week out are a good bunch (as can be said for the majority of fanbases). The scrotes that turn up for the big cup games and playoffs, aren't.
One muppet even managed to get into the Fylde dressing room last weekend.

Very true alot of clubs have idiots turn up for big games .Telford also had issues on Saturday.they were really bad in the 80s.

Saturday is bloody massive.
-
Just to conform, 2 lads ran on the pitch in the Fylde game and while that's 2 too many it was nowhere near as bad as reported, after each Fylde goal their players celebrated by running towards the Cheadle End and goading us, 2 idiots ran and one squared up to a player, when the player also squared up the fan pushed him and 2 or 3 Fylde players then tried to wade in. As for the dressing room incident? there wasn't one, I know the chief steward personally and he said nobody got anywhere near the dressing room. Anyway good luck for the rest of the season, I hope we're both playing Macc next season.

It’s that 10 day spell starting from next Saturday that will decide our season. Whilst the last 3 games against 2 almost certainly relegated sides and one against another with nothing to play for is great insurance for us if we need points to confirm play offs. Such a massive difference though in terms of finishing 3rd vs finishing 6/7 and the toughness through, so it’s crucial we take as many points as possible from that period. Given we won 3/4 of the games against the same opponents earlier in the season we should feel confident.

It's the reason I said weeks ago that County would win it. Chorley v County is more or less a pre-playoff promotion final.

They are excellent at home, so I wouldn't rule them out just yet.

I'm just happy to be in our position but looking ahead at our fixtures the telford brackley and chorley matches are all massive with (I would say) an outside potential to nick 3rd place...
Which would mean home advantage for the semi and a week off....saying that our away form has been dam good and momentum can be everything...and there is a week off before the final.
I think if we don't win the playoffs its been a great season and I'd be looking for a great season next season and being perhaps more ready for promotion..... but this side are winners and it could be written in the stars for us to win the final at edgeley park......

Any reason why the semis and final are on a Sunday?

This might or might not be a relevant question, but does anyone know whether players on loan to the end of the season remain eligible in May? I ask this because of course our "regular season" finishes on April 27th. I'm assuming that they will be eligible for selection but would appreciate confirmation of that.

Think I;m right in saying if we beat Brackley we will need max two wins and a draw to secure 3rd place? although GD may decide this...76 pts will be the most brackley or spenymoor could achieve...spenymoor have a tougher 3 games I'd say....3 horse race

I agree but I expect Chorley to beat Bradford by more and the Goal difference is tight.
