I look forward to the Chester fans who lest we forget 'accidentally' went in the home end and then kicked off back in August explain how their tinpot Phoneix club didn't have enough seats for us in their away section and hastily had to shift their own supporters across after kick off. All the organisation you'd come to expect off a club who didn't realise a barman made off with 20 grand recently.

If we put clee and watmore on second half we can do these

Losing 2-0 considering bracks and fax both losing and gate drawing isn't so bad

A reasonable set of results all things considered I'd say. If BPA could do us another favour and do Harrogate on Weds night that would be fantastic.

Much better performance than I expected when I saw clee and watmore were out and Brooke had to start.

If reevesie would have been an inch closer I think we would have gone on to win.

Plenty of effort. Leather was outstanding and ran himself into the ground.

Lets get good numbers to Halifax and try again.

Fisrt half we gave them far too much respect. Second half when we had a go they were rattled. If Reeves had scored who knows.

First half I thought Densmore and Havern we shocking but fair play to both, second half they more like their normal selves.

Special mention for Leather who was the best palyer on the pitch by a country mile.

As Ecky has said when I saw the team I didn't expect much at all but the second half performance has given me some hope of getting something out of the next two matches.

Agree with Ecky and RS.

They are the best in the league and we are not far away from them. Great following today, well done to all that could make it. Pity they did not allow for us all to get in. Liked the were not Vauxhall Motors chant.

Someone on their forum said he asked a steward, who told him we had 263 there today.

First half passed me by, but I think we probably sat too deep. Second half we tried to get at them and had Reeves (who seems to have lost some sharpness over the last few weeks) been able to get on the end of Lawrie's cross to equalise, I reckon we would have left with at least a point.

A few other random things :-
At 2.50pm I think I got the last seat in 'our end'
No Chester nobbers today
Glad their fans were reminded that "City" no longer exist.
Forty minute walk back to the pub opposite the station - bloody freezing. Good real ale though and all food half price today.
£16 return rail fare for two from Navvy Road - not bad that.
Really hope we are playing them next season.

You omit to detail your near failure to return to your seat at one juncture though...!

34 points, alas.

Mind you, we do have a game in hand.

Ah yes, having hopped over the barrier into the 'Chester seats' to go to the toilets by what appeared to be the quickest and most sensible route, the steward would not then let me back into the Alty 'end' !

Appalling that, with a club the calibre of Chester's and a ground of such size, that they couldn't give a local team more space on a big bank holiday fixture.

The only reason I can think of is stewarding, in which case did they communicate with anyone at Moss Lane?

To me they seem like a club who have very little respect for the opponents and if we needed to win there to win leauge and took a thousand they wouldev made the same mistake

I thought we had about 400 there and I thought there were enough seats in the allocated section.
The problem was caused by the large number of Alty fans that choose to stand up in a seated area. This would be fine if everyone stands up, but it doesnt work when only some wish to sit and there are also children present that cannot see. What happens is that the children stand on the seats and risk being knocked off, particularly if we score. Some seats were actually already broken.  If I am on my own I personally prefer to stand. I also cannot fathom out why the stewards would not open the empty seats behind the goal next to us. I think this is a different issue to what we use to have at Rushden, a similar type of ground, but we only took about 120 and most stood up at the back of the stand so didnt obstruct those wanting to use the seats for what they are designed for.

As for those on this forum having a pop at Chester's fans. I thought they were excellent yesterday. They were very pleasant and friendly. Let us into their club even though we were decked in away team colours. I had a good, friendly and interesting chat with their fans. I dont recall any offensive chanting towords us inside the ground. Afterwards they had the decency to congratuate us on a fine performance claiming we are the best side they have played this season.

Don't agree re seating as I think there was plenty of room for those that wanted to stand to stand if Chester had prepared properly.

Do agree re Chester fans. I too thought they were a very friendly bunch in the bar and I for one say good luck to them.
