"I rang Danny before I signed and asked him what it was like and he had lots of good words to say about Altrincham and that was also one of the reasons I signed.”

Full article here, Kittrick as friendly as ever....

Why is it always a manager who has got to ring players? Why didn’t he ring me and ask what was going on?

sounds like someone doesn't fully understand his job title.....

Lee often comes under fire (some times for good reason) but this guy is an utter tool

The two things that are obvious from that article is he chose Alty over Stockport,North Ferriby and maybe others and that Kitterick is a massive bell!

"I have said to players not to jump before sailing"

Que? Maybe I'm being particularly thick, but what the hell does that mean?

That well known phrase!  I thought that....

He sounds to me like he has the board wrapped around his finger there and he can't do much wrong.  I'd have probably rung round them after I was confirmed as manager again saying "next year we'll win it etc".

It's similar to one David Pleat used on the radio about why it'd been so long since England and Ireland had played each other: "Bridges take time to heal".

We do seem to becoming an offshoot of Yorkshire don't we - Walshaw, Boshell, Clee, Reeves, Sinnott are all from or live there. Makes a change from when I was younger when we seemed to be a team of scousers.

I think he meant don't burn your bridges at both ends until you've counted your chickens.

It's not quite Gerry Quinn proportions but its getting there.

Walshaw has clearly looked at the gift horse in the mouth before it laid the golden egg....

Walshaw leaving may be the needle in the haystack that breaks the camel's back for Guiseley.

From the main site:-
Set up a seperate thread then noticed this one so copied and paste.
----------------------

Offering his own take, Kittrick said, 'I have said to players not to jump before sailing. I have hardly spoken to anybody yet. He has now taken it out of my hands. Why is it always a manager who has got to ring players? Why didn’t he ring me and ask what was going on? It is only now I know where I am with the budget. I have about twenty phone calls to make. Some players have rung me and asked what is happening and if I wanted them next year. Others just sit and wait to be pampered. If players need to know what is happening, they should ring me up'".

Erm......I am astounded by these comments......your the manager, dont you think YOU should be on the front foot with YOUR team and YOUR players. It is always a managers job to manage his players, not the other way around.

Thanks Kittrick.

A song to the roses advert tune - Thank you very much for Bosh and Walshaw, thank you very much, than you very very very much !!!

that tells me he didn't want to know what was going on. It tells me he knew all he wanted to know and made a decision.
