Exactly the correct signing. Experienced and reliable at this level.

indeed.

that should be centre back sorted - Hannigan and Cyrus first choice with Hall and Heathcote as cover / pushing Cyrus for a start

Keeper is sorted, RB is fine with Patterson / Densmore

LB is still a problem

Cain at L Mid  is Ok with B H-C as cover while he hits the gym and the steaks and protein shakes

Cm is fine

Need a creative RM

lawrie behind Reeves with whichever big lumps we can't move on as plan B

Not a million miles away.

LB and Right winger in, lots of spare parts out and we have a squad.

I hope his attitude and sense of urgency have improved after his last stint with us.

Hope it works out.

That is a, shall we say, satisfactory signing?

Was he brought in by Harvey?

He is exactly what everybody has been asking for. He is a steady, unremarkable and experienced centre half at this level. The perceived lack of urgency comes from the fact he plays football properly and on the ground. Was impressed by him at Guiseley and envied Curzon having him when they played against our teenage defence recently. Of course he is a Jimmy Harvey signing.

I think Miller can do a job right wing tbh and once/if Dens is fit then Patterson can also play right mid. Left back is the main issue and also left wing, can't put too much pressure on Cain.

The Curzon number 3 who terrorised Sumner and Lynch in the wing back position, would be excellent to get too. We are spoilt with Patterson, who can play both left and right.

An experienced central defender is what Cyrus needs beside him. This looks like the right move in the present circumstances - assuming Hannigan returns in due course we will have competition for places and decent quality cover.

Sorry to break the following two things to you but

1. Cyrus is not good enough at the moment and in this situation. Lots of attributes and I like him but rash challenge for county's first, dragged woeful out of position for their second, roasted against Curzon last week and I'm afraid looks shaky against any decent forwards. Hall and Hannigan once he's fit.

2. Why do people keep including Densmore in all of this. I think he's f**ked but if he isn't when exactly do you think he's going to be fit and ready for action? I'd be amazed if it's this side of Xmas!

Fair enough. I'm pretty sure Harvey could have stopped the signing had he thought it was a bad idea. Hannigan and Hall will be solid...fingers crossed!

There's no way it's fine, I'd say we need some better quality in there.

I don't think he's going to turn down an experienced centre half in this situation, regardless of who's idea it was.
