MANCHESTER 10K
« on: May 11, 2011, 08:29:30 PM »

Hi all, sorry for the blatant non Alty topic here (feel free to shift it Ecky when ready) but I'm running the Manchester 10k on Saturday, as is my missus who's really kicking my arse in the fundraising stakes....

Anyway just to show that anyone can run if they want we're raising money for the Christie, a worthwhile cause I'm sure you'll agree. So please, if you can spare anything at all can you visit my justgiving page

http://www.justgiving.com/ballers2011

I've been training hard and it's going well. I'm thoroughly confident of finishing in May.

Cheers

Ballers,

Don't want to rain on your parade, but if I were you I'd hang on till Sunday. That's when everyone else is running it. Or are you looking to get a head start?  ;)

This can stay right on the frontpage.

Ballers gives a lot of hours to the youth team for nothing so I hope that we can find a little something to help him out.

Put me down for a tenner. Can Ash give it you at the youth team presentation evening?

Yep that's no problem, he can add to the £3 he's already pledged.

Again many thanks to all, much appreciated.

Thanks everyone,

Set a target of £300 and have so far rased £290.

So if anyone fancies taking it to the target that would be great.....

Just got back folks...in the sense that Beesley and Claire have been helping us with our, ahem, 'refuelling' rather than I've just troted through the line with a bloke sweeping up and getting a high five from the Deansgate equivalent of Queenie.

Anyway I managed to shift my 15st arse

round the course in 59 mins 19 seconds which required me to put in a real bit of effort

but it's good to know that the mobility and speed I had when I once played football at a decent level hasn't completely left me

Thanks once again to all who've contributed.
