Thats a really good draw and I am confident of getting through.  :D

FC United might even play it at Stalybridge to give us even less chance of winning.

Irritatingly, without Durham/Fcum we'd have been at home to Northwich which I'm sure everyone would've enjoyed.

Don't think we can change grounds just like that
However the chances are it will possibly be a Sunday game as Bury are at home to PNE the same  day

Nice one  ;D Would have rather had it away though.

Looks like it will be on the Sunday as well  :-\

... Have to see if we even beat Durham first though

Lets get as many people down to this as possible. We're going to need the support should we be travelling to FC United; likewise, Durham would be a top day out.

Can't wait!

We should be taking 400 easy... It's on the met

My prediction yesterday

"  JACK.W.JOLLY
@jaka03
@craigsingleton #alty to play FCUM away...."

league games yes and some minor cup games howevever as far as Im aware FA Cup/trophy games can not be switched unless its on police advice

Great draw, especially if FCUM get through. Sometimes I think the only way of explaining our dire recent cup/trophy record is a slight lack of spark/excitement/motivation. A game in front of a decent crowd against FCUM should ensure the players are right at it.

Given the contempt with which the big clubs treat this competition, it's quite possible we could go far if we really commit to having a go.

Ah..fair enough mate.  I think you're right about the FA competiitions.

No direct trams on a Sunday to Bury so there will be thousands of Alty all over Piccadilly Gardens...waiting for the changeover.

There is nothing in recent years to suggest that we would be motivated by playing in front of a big crowd.   :(

However, we have to buck the trend at some point. On balance I think I fancy FCUM away more than a trip to a dogged north east outfit.

Then both teams make more?

They are not allowed to switch unless on Police advice. It will be friday or sunday at Gigg Lane. Funny, I just predicted this to an FCUM fan I work with this morning. FC would love to switch it as it costs them 5K a match at GL. Anyway they havent beaten Durham yet, at least Lee can watch the replay at GL too so even less excuse for us to screw it up yet again,...which we probably will  >:(

If its FC united then we can watch Astley Mulholland play like Pele.....although the evening  news reports..

"Both teams then contrived to waste a string of chances, Astley Mulholland missing FC’s best with a shot which sailed over"

Can we print off a load of white round stickers saying 'Love Alty, err Love Alty" and stick them on any sign in sight around GL :)

Due to being poor I'm hoping for FCUM as its a lot closer.

If I suddenly come into a lot of money then I'm all for Durham...  ;D

Can everyone stop being so negative? I dont really like to dwell of past performances in the cup and trophy over recent seasons - and seeing as we are in the league above we should go into the match full of confidence as favourites.

That said our away record is terrible. I think we will get a draw. Then roast them 4-1 in the replay at fortress moss lane.

One final point - will Jamie Lawrie be here and if so, will he be cup tied?

Yes, Lawrie will in theory be available - loans last till start of December; whether he will in fact be made available for a Trophy tie depends on Telford rather than on us. As regards being negative - it's more a case of being realistic and recognising another big banana skin when you see one. Yes, we should go into the match as confident favourites - but we aren't like that!

Can we NOT call it an invasion fixture this time.
I can't think of an invasion fixture that I've been to that we've won.
How about a 'projected larger than average away following' fixture.?

I agree with that - It sounds like we need a fkn UN mandate to go to the game  ;)

I had "a feeling" about Harrogate, Witton and Eastbourne.... But they didn't exactly turn out as planned.

For geographical reasons I don't care who it is as long as we win - was hoping to give the red and black shirt an outing before it becomes obsolete and Durham away isn't practical from here!

Have vague recollections of a plastic pitchfantastic day out at hyde. Wearing travis's big hat for a bet and some T**t (jealous of me hat) taking a swing for me in the Bar only to miss and then run away never to be seen again. Lots of beer involved i assume. Anyone seen Mr travis in the last few years I think the lasst time i saw him was at Stoke.
