Saturdays Fixtures
« on: March 30, 2011, 08:24:38 AM »

One of the best things from last night is that now we are out of the bottom four, we enter a mini league in which we must out perform FGR and Hayes.   Others can get dragged in dependent on results of that mini league.

Saturdays fixtures -

AFC Wimbledon v Barrow, 15:00  - not an easy away game
Fleetwood Town v Tamworth, 15:00  -  not an easy away game
Histon v Forest Green, 15:00  -  we need one last hurrah from Histon
Southport v Eastbourne Boro, 15:00  -  easy game on paper (Eastbourne down to ten men on 28 mins)
Wrexham v Hayes & Yeading, 15:00  - not an easy away game

If we could (and we can) sneak three points off Cambridge and just a couple of those go our way the table will look great.

AFC Wimbledon v Barrow, 15:00 - I will go for a Wimbledon.

Fleetwood Town v Tamworth, 15:00- Tamworth might sneak this one.

Histon v Forest Green, 15:00  - FGR all the way.

Southport v Eastbourne Boro, 15:00 - Southport all the way.

Wrexham v Hayes & Yeading, 15:00 - I will go for a draw.

Altrincham v Cambridge, 15.00 - I think we will get beat due to stamina from last nights game.

Hope I am wrong.

Just noticed, IF we do beat Cambridge, then they will be only be 1 point above us in the league bringing them right into the mix for relegation.

Pleasure Ecky, I did say I hope I am wrong.

I was wrong about last night, I had on my coupon Alty, Wrexham and Luton. So I am not the best at picking results.

Am I right in thinking that Cambridge are a substantially weaker side than earlier in the season, when they beat us comfortably?
They've lost a few key players without replacing them, 3 points on Saturday would be fantastic.

They are indeed Chester...

They have just got a loan player in from Grimsby but I think they lost a couple of loan players back to AFC Dons and Luton a couple of weeks back who were decent.  Also still managed by the temporary manager they have had for about six months now, he may be a director or something like at Newport.

I think they planned to slide towards the end of the season and start again next year but its getting a little close for comfort now.

They'll be an OK side but if we go at them we can beat them.

Sean Densmore cant be too far away from a comeback 11 games since he last played... He could make a huge difference in the outcome of the season for us... Plus Denham cant be far away

More nails to be bitten, more cheeks to be clenched....it's as tight as the proverbial duck's arse, but 3 or 4 weeks ago who wouldn't have given anything to be in the position we're in now?

Looking forward to coming over for the Grimsby game more than ever now.

Both Denham and Densmore warmed up last night apparently...

Densmore is ahead of Denham...and could make the bench Saturday if rumour is to be believed.

Every week from now on in is crucial. Our run-in is definitely one of the better ones. Noises coming out of Cambridge over recent weeks have been things like "if we can avoid defeat we'll stay out of the relegation scrap". If they come to us happy with a draw, we've got a great chance to get into them and go for the win.

I just fancy Barrow to get a draw at Wimbledon for some reason. Funny side Barrow. They often pull a few results out late in the season. Histon must be thinking their game against Forest Green is absolutely win or bust. Hopefully they'll deny Forest Green the three points with a committed performance. Unfortunately I can't see anything other than Southport winning at home to Eastbourne, but hey, we'll have to wait and see.

I fancy Histon to turn FGR over, and I think there's the ghost of a chance that Eastbourne could get a draw at Haig Avenue. We should be good for AT LEAST a point. I'll wait till I see if Smith and Williams are fit before committing to three !

The great escape is on. As for saturdays games i think Barrow might scrape a draw, Fleetwood to beat Tamworth, Histon & FGR to draw, Southport to just win. I dislike Wrexham so would like them to loose but dont think they will. As for us, I will be there so i think we can beat Cambridge and drag them right into the relegation scrap.
Come on the Robins.
