Mick Carmody was probably one of the worst watchers of a football match I've ever met.

He didn't just sit in the stand taking the money like some others who have been and could be mentioned - it really hurt Mick not to play and to accuse him of deliberately sitting out his contract and taking the money is both incorrect and unfair

As I have posted under a different thread

"Certainly looks as though my 'friend' from Stockport was indeed pulling my chain.

Next time I see him I'll thank him very much and tell him that I don't really need any assistance to look an arse thanks very much.

What I posted was in good faith and I'm sorry if anyone was misled by anything I wrote"

It actually looks more like the late David Rocastle to me

I don't know whether the guy I spoke to (Stockport Chief Scout) was pulling my chain or not BUT he  very clearly said to me that he'd never even heard of Lewis.

I've known this guy for about ten years and used to see him quite regularly at MUFC Reserve fixtures

If it transpires that he has indeed fed me a line then I will apologise unreservedly but, based on experience, I have no reason to doubt him

I spoke to the Chief Scout from Stockport, whom I have known personally for a good few years, at tonights game (one of TEN there to watch Oli)

He'd never even heard of Lewis Chalmers never mind sent anyone to look at him at any point, nor, to be honest (he said) was he interested at this point in Lewis' development.

If he continues to pull up trees for the rest of the season and for the first half of next season then maybe he'd look at him.

I saw the same guy at the end who said that Lewis is about 2 seasons away from the FL from what he saw tonight

Whilst I agree that he has to look after his own best interests I have to say that it does disappoint me that, knowing the Club would never stand in the way of him progressing his career he seems unwilling to try to potentially gain some sort of reward  for Alty.

Before he played for the Youth Team he'd given up football virtually entirely, just kicking about with his mates. George spotted the potential and, to an extent 'took a risk' with him and look where he is now and has the potential to be. If this risk hadn't been taken then there would in all likelihood, be no mention of potential Football League careers for him

As I say..fully understand he must put himself first but, disappointing that he is reportedly unwilling to 'reward' the Club for it's faith in him and the work that's gone into developing him. :-X

If the six you mention go, and stretching a point for FGR geographically then that'll mean no relegation and three up from Conf North & Conf South....or will it??

This Seasons relegation and promotion issues will be decided on the field of play - Oh Yes and I'm the Dalai Lama

I would wish to immediately and forthwith withdraw my previous comments about fruit, vegetables etc.

I was temporarily mentally disturbed by a deficit of Vitamins C & D due to my highly irresponsible dietary habits.

I am now, thanks to Parkin Baker, once more reminded of my responsibilities toward ALL Alty Supporters and am therefore (I hope) suitably contrite

Can I have my rations reinstated now pretty please???  :-* :-* :-*

Very True Gaz,

Just been down to the Oxford Road Campus where they are giving away free Rustlers products.

The rationale for this is that when Students come in from a night on the beer they're always hungry. In an attempt to assuage this hunger, and given the unacceptability of Fried Chicken Emporia, they may be tempted to utilise either the Grill, the Frying Pan or the Chip Pan, fall into a drunker stupor and cause a fire.

With the Rustlers you just stick it in the microwave for 70 seconds (this being well within even the drunkest students attention span) and there is no risk of conflagration (just food poisoning, furred up arteries, burnt mouth and throat etc)

I beg the marketing exec who dreamed that one up is giggling all the way to the pub ::)
