Harrogate?

A home draw with droylsden disqualifies you from entering the playoffs surely!

Does that apply to Guiseley ? A single point from home games against Vauxhall Motors and Colwyn Bay...........so it ain't just us, though they've got points in the bank of course.

Let's wait till we've played Droylesden at home before insisting on that rule. They may not have impressed in the two games against us but Harrogate are only three points behind us with three games in hand. We're competing with them much more than we are with Halifax.

Very premature post. There's still a third of the season to go!

Lots of games to play and its still in our hands. I'd be utterly gobsmacked if we didn't make the play offs considering the quality we have and Halifax/Harrogate fixture backlog. If we get maximum points from all the teams in the bottom half and take a few draws from teams in the playoffs then it should be a formality.

May I suggest we return to this after Guiseley away. So we can see how important our double header with Halifax will be.

For me it goes in stages now.

It's still about what we do at this stage because we have had our slip now.

Next stage is cat and mouse with Gainsborough who have Chester away on Saturday so that's our chance to get back level (not that Colwyn Bay will be easy).

Some are discounting Harrogate which could be right after than draw last night but I'd like to see them fall away as soon as possible and am not so sure yet.

I'm sure we will hear quite soon whether Brackley are going to attempt the ground improvements or not to bring 6th place into play.

It is my understanding that in the BSN if a team that makes the play-offs e.g. Brackley cannot participate for ground reasons then the sixth team does NOT take their place. I may be wrong, but I am sure I heard that somewhere. Don't know if that means the highest team e.g. Guisely gets a bye to the Final, or the team that e.g. Brackley would have played. Does anyone else know?

Before I get the "we shouldn't be pinning our hopes on that" post, I'm not.

A few years back Nuneaton went into the playoffs from 6th after a team couldn't take part, however the rules may have changed.

Gainsborough are playing the second leg of their trophy semi-final on Saturday. We actually play twice before their next league game a week today, which as Ecky says is away to Chester, so we definitely have a chance to regain the initiative over them.

Damn Socrates and his undated lists. Thanks for putting that right.

This story may not yet be true, but common sense says the highest placed 'qualifying' teams should play-off, so I would guess that 6th comes into play. Last year Vics were not allowed in the play-offs (Unibond League) and I think 6th came in

Would be an interesting situation if Brackley won the league - I know they won't, but I think when Hucknall won the title and didn't have the ground required, that nobody went up (NPL) that season

We get 30 points from our remaining 16 games and we will probably get into the play-offs

Looks a lot grimmer than a week ago, I'm estimating 71 points, which wont be enough looking at the others
