I remember Alty 4 Horwich RMI FA Cup, the Blackburn and nearly Everton season 73-4. Lennie Dickinson scored with a Brazilian style free-kick. P*ssed down for 90 mins - I know I was a ballboy..
JTH.  My Dad tells a great story about how he couldn't take his 8 year old to Old Trafford because of the aggro in the '70s.   So a mate of his said you should take him to watch Alty.  No trouble there and a good team as well.  So he took us to that Horwich game where we stood on the Popular Side.  Half way into the second half the legendary Lennie Dickinson gets into it with "the moaners" on the Pop side with terrible language and Lenny threatening to come in there and "effin sort them out"!!!   So much for the family friendly atmosphere with the aggro coming from the players!!!  You have to hear my Dad tell it to get the full effect!

Have a mate at FGR vs Maidenhead.....FGR 1-0 up, but vulnerable is his verdict so far (he's following Maidenhead)

I don't doubt it - trouble is part of Lennie's job was to calm down a young hot head named Heathcote - that went well I seem to recall (ahem)

150 miles further north - just for the day mind I'm not staying for the nonsense tomorrow. Still enjoyed a couple of pints in Grafton St on Thursday whilst attempting to solve your housing problems....

71 Smith needs treatment after barged into hoardings by Mulligan- Welch on for Smith; Gateshead bring n Fisher for Ferrell and Marwood for Nelthorpe.

I wonder if Welchy will get thrown up front?
