Their deathbed dignity is on a par with Gaddafi.

Having now read the whole article, I am struggling to see why Vics appointed him in the first place as it seems to me he never saw it as a long term job when he joined them. The circus continues....

I don't think Northwich and the words 'long term job' have been seem in the same sentence since they left the Drill Field.

Neither did Jim Rushe. It was only ever meant to be until the end of the season. No longer.

Just didn't quite manage that! Still 2 games so far, 2 wins, and if Paul Simpson can win us his last match in charge (FAT quarter final) people will soon stop crying into their cornflakes.

Read the following lines from the link

The Northwich Guardian understands that Alan Wright, brought in as Simpson’s right hand man, is staying with the club, although no decision has been taken as to what his role will be.

Probably as a demolition expert  :D

I'm shaking my head at our FA Trophy capitulation at the first opportunity whilst these are in the quarter finals and with a decent shout of getting into the semi as Newport are no great shakes.

I woinder if the Vics will be the first team to change their manager at half time? Or their ground, for that matter!

"And in the 2nd half Northwich will be playing towards the jumpers for goalposts end and will be using fly goalie!"

and "Fly manager!"

I'm not sure I understand this. Altrincham have effectively operated at one or other of two levels since the year dot. This is the fifth or sixth tier if you wish to think of it that way.

Northwich, on the other hand, have slid from the second to the seventh tier - the drop from fifth to seventh being particularly rapid.

I don't see any prospect of us dropping into the seventh tier any day soon - and if you squeeze up to tier six by the end of the season you just might find us gone. UPWARDS !

Sad really, still if you will follow a team from a one horse town where the horse has, in fact, bolted........................

looks like you blew it V Newport... oh dear.
 ;D

Putting the smiley stuff aside I was following the game via the newport forum comments and they said you battered them for an hour.  On the pitch you're not bad in truth.  Off the pitch Northwich Vics are a dying dog with fleas, mange and chronic diarrohea.

We have our very own ex- Port Vale manager too.

A pair of ex-Vales managers.  Is there a Common Noun for that? A mustering of ex-Port Vale managers perhaps?
