so Grimsby then.....
« on: November 14, 2014, 12:17:21 PM »

I Know feelings are still running high but time to re focus and look ahead to tomorrows game at home to grimsby (would be a typical Alty to get a result here as its a game against a side expected to beat us)

looking at there form they are clear favorites

Last 6 Results:
win FC Halifax 1-0 (h)
lose Oxford Utd 3-1 (h)
win Braintree Town 1-0 (a)
win Dartford 3-0 (h)
win Torquay 3-2 (a)
win Wrexham 1-0 (a)

i fancy us to show some heart with whats happend this week, i expect the players to have taken a long hard look at themselves and im going to predict a hard fought Draw 1-1.

Just show some fight boys thats all i and many others ask, we dont expect to win the league but we expect teams that have faced us to know they have been in a game.

Big following expected from grimsby tomorrow, these are the games we all craved for when floating around the abyss below. So get to moss lane tomorrow and get behind the lads, we've had similar or better results against three of those mentioned above. Let's hope to end a shocker of a week on a high.

Easy: just don't let the opposition score the first goal.

This has happened on 13 occasions this season to date and we have proceeded to lose 12 of those matches.

The exception was the 1-1 draw at Alfreton Town.

We also haven't lost a game in which we have scored the opening goal.

"Sliding Doors" scenario 1)

A couple of half-chances go begging in a bright first 20 minutes. After weathering this, Grimsby will win a carelessly-conceded free kick about 25 yards out. The ball will float in, clearing all 10 Alty outfield players, and be nodded home past a static keeper.

The ground will fall silent. Altrincham will huff and puff for a while. Grimsby will score again after 65 minutes. No substitutions will be made until 81 minutes, when Gillespie will be let loose to run around in circles for 10 minutes. Wilko will be allowed his customary 4 minutes once all is lost. After 96  minutes, the ball hits Kyle on it's way into the net, ensuring hi sslelection for the next 23 games.  Grimsby win, Sinnout, forum meltdown.

Scenario 2)

Altrincham find themselves in the lead after 12 minutes, when Reevesey finally wins a 1-on-1 with a keeper. Grimsby lay siege to the goal, but are thwarted time and again. Alty double their lead on 65 minutes, when James Lawrie scores. Cruising to victory Altrincham concede a goal from a corner (see above) on 75 minutes, leading to an excruciating final 15 minutes, in which all members of the crowd age by two years. Alty win, Uday still wants Sinnout. Firstchoicefullback fails to get a picture of me, disgrace.

Ah, I knew that I had read it somewhere....!

Your crucial mistake was not securing intellectual property rights.

As for tomorrow's programme, well, all I will say is have your people set up a meeting with my people and then I'll hand over 25% of my writer's fee.

Would you accept a signed Stubblemelt CD as a token of my remorse?

We see something of a reaction.  We do go behind midway through the first half but get it back before half time.

1-1 result.
