Both sides will fancy their chances tomorrow. We really should have beaten them at home for the curtain raiser & would have done if Dinanga hadn’t wrongly been given offside. We are well overdue our second away win of the season though so I’m going to say Alty to shade it 2-1. Jennings extended his loan a big boost & we now have a settled & strong team.

In reporting that this match is now to be streamed John Laidlar queries why the kick -off if last Saturday's games was changed. Wasn't this because if England had finished second in their group they would have played at 3pm that day?

Excellent result by the lads today. Thoroughly deserved the 3 pts. I used the stream which was ok, the commentator kept calling Byrne Bryan. I thought Flynnie was in goal…

4 points off the play-off places. Just saying.

Cracking win. Really pleased with the three goals. But edgy when they got it to 3 2.

Heading back home a happy boater.

Maidstone have tweeted the away attendance as 52, very respectable with the streaming and England game at 7pm also the bad weather

Great win , well done lads .  With just 3 points separating 9 places it's a real bottleneck in the mid table positions , but we're playing well , with confidence and we now have a settled side . Holding on to Connor and Elliot for as long as we can and fingers crossed for the season is key to our hopes .

Very poorly organised there, unbelievably no toilets or food facilities in the away end and you have to gain access through the home stand to use toilets in the clubhouse where there were huge queues. Not sure that is really acceptable in a segregated ground in the National League
Stewards however   Nwere friendly and helpful which is a change from some of the southern grounds we visit.

I watched the stream and didn’t really notice him so not bad. Not convinced by the handball for the pen but hard to tell on stream and no replays. Certainly better than the clown England had tonight. He really didn’t like Saka did he?!

I didn’t go so won’t comment on the game but very pleased we got only our second away win of the season & sounded like it was fully deserved.

On a more general note if we are going to take the next step to being a comfortable ‘middle 8’ team in our 3rd season at the National level then we need to be going down to teams like Maidstone, patting them on the head & taking the points. Whilst every away win at this level is precious we need to target the promoted sides both home and away.

I fear Maidenhead will fall victim to the weather so the ‘Fax games over Christmas (if on!) will be a good test for what I expect to be two evenly matched teams.

Halifax pitch is awful at the moment, had loads of sand on it about a month ago, we'll need to be lucky with the weather to play them at theirs
