I remember the Pwllheli game but a friendly at Windsor and Eton? Odd, how come we would even have considered such a distant PSF?

I'm not entirely sure they can just choose to furlough their staff, surely the furlough scheme is there for when businesses have been forced to close?

Many of you know that I live in SW London these days but the constant freezing temperatures and snow we have had recently have reminded me of a funny story, no doubt told previously.
It was New Year's Day in I'd say 1977 or 78. We always played Macc home and away over Christmas, it was before the APL started.

We were away on Boxing Day, there was a bit of trouble after on the way out with some fighting. Mostly handbags but punches were thrown. One of the Macc protagonists was a lad of about 16, wearing a long black leather coat.

I met up with my mate as usual in the Bridge pub about 1.30 for a couple. About 2.30 in walked the Macc team, the game was off, while we were in the pub it had put about 4" of snow down.
I left to get the train home to Dane Rd but the snow had stopped them running. As I left the station I bumped into Mr long leather coat. In that way football fans have with shared camaraderie I offered to help him get home to Macclesfield.

We got the 263 or 264 together up to the bottom of Dane Rd at which point I advised him he needed to change buses to get to Manchester. I thoughtfully put him on the 222 to Partington, he was so grateful I almost felt guilty as I walked home to my parent's centrally heated house in Sale just 5 mins up the road.

Absolutely true story, still proud of it to this day.

Not sure I picked up on the compliments to be honest. No excuses apart from all the excuses he trotted out......

Priestnall, who revealed his club need £750,000 in order to complete the season,  says he will vote to continue the season but expects it to be a close ballot, even in the highest division.

£750,000??? Wow!!
++

and they got £250000 parachute payment !!

Makes you wonder doesn't it. Just doing the figures on gate income alone, assuming 3000 average paying £15 average each then that's just under 1m for 22 home league games. That's being generous with the figures on gates and gate income too.

Not sure we can appeal a second yellow unfortunately assuming that's what it was.

Not too sure about the phrase; 'feed the pig and he will score'

Seriously though, welcome back Joe, glad to see you again.

Picked up from Man City I think Steve, Shaun Goater, "Feed the Goat"
Just football banter.

Unfortunately I believe any drainage measures carried out will just provide nominal improvement, water finds its level, the ground and pitch are low lying especially in conjunction with the brook to the rear of the pop side. The only real solution is to raise the playing area and camber it to get above the water table and allow run off at the perimeter. Even a 200mm raise would make a difference with a decent grade provided below, small as that seems, but it is tonnes of material.

Pity we never played Met Police when Shaun Constable was on the books.

Remember years ago watching AFC Wimbledon play Met Police. Two coppers walking around the pitch perimeter were treated to a rousing chorus of "Is that all you take away"

Would've been a marvellous away day for this SW London based fan, some belting pubs in Havant and Emsworth. Oh well.

What about Fisayo Adarabioyo?
He's been brought in as a target man up top hasn't he. Surely he'll play?

Have a feeling he is cup tied Saughall.

Blimey, I never knew that! I suppose David could still attend though?

Sorry, I was just thinking of people I knew from the Broomwood, and he came to mind!

I believe that they have both managed to get themselves banned from games Hugh.

Not so sure.  Although none of them would ever admit it, a lot of Chester fans definitely consider us as their secondary rivals behind Wrexham.  A mixture of always losing to us, playing each other so much, being relatively close by and also off-field events are the reasons.  Just take a look at our official Twitter page, whenever we concede a goal, no matter who it's against or whether it affects them, a handful of their fans are all over it.  Needless to say, every single Chester fan wanted us to lose to York and then Boston in the play-offs.  I hope we stay up next year and I even hope they come up because that fixture was the one that I have always looked forward to the most.  Still haven't gotten over the disappointment of the game in March being cancelled, would have been massive attendance!

I wear mine around Exeter and have had a few strange looks and one member of staff in M+S thought it was an Exeter city one and said i had given her a good idea for her brothers birthday present.

Presumably pre-loading on ham and pickle H?

Logically, sightlinewise, sitting down should be in front of standing up. But never is.
Just a different perspective...

Only place I've seen standing behind seats is at Macclesfield.
