My guess would be two of those.
Gutted, I was meant to be going today but I've had to work instead. Come on lads, let's have those three points today!!

K ty

Can anyone work out what formation we are using today?
I call it the "who's not injured?" formation ;)
-
Lawton and Denham haven't travelled.
-
Lawton and Denham haven't travelled.
Have they put manek meneqi menaqu dummies in Alty kits on the bench?
-
NOW THATS ASKING FOR IT jd
looks like we are having a go at them
-
well on top...O'Neil missed a couple of early chances..
-
It would be good to get an early goal - as long as we don't over relax.
-
I am a bit worried about today, we look like a marathon runner who has hit the wall, and they've got noting to lose at all.....
-
10 Mins. Altrincham just have the edge : Key Player Joe O'Neill ::)
-
70% possession to alty
-
Jeff Stelling seems to go through the same roller coaster of emotions with Hartlepool as we do with Alty
-
fgr 1 up vs Cambridge
-
Interestingly Burton 2 down at Crawley and down to 10 men.
Unfortunately FGR winning
-
Crawley 2 up at Burton, Ooooo
-
FGR will finish top half..superb team
-
bbc text seems to have dried up at 14:44 mins
-
Sky commentary on 20mins say Alty have the edge with Johnson key player
-
bbc always does this think the staff go and make a cuppa
-
about 7 mins for a cuppa - bbc now back..
-
one down
-
FFS
Looks like it was Lewes' first attempt on goal.
-
Oh crap >:(
-
not good
-
Oh dear, Is laughing out loud a bit silly ?
-
Early days yet.
How many have we taken?
-
unbelievable,whats wrong with them
-
Typical...all the pressure off Lewes now they are down...just go out and play..ride luck and score...then enjoy it
-
100+ alty there
-
I know its still early doors, but we are simply not putting away enough of our chances.
-
Typical Altrincham
-
Unfortunately I refer you honourable gentlemen to the comment I made some moments ago :( :-
I am a bit worried about today, we look like a marathon runner who has hit the wall, and they've got noting to lose at all.....
-
Long way to go yet, we can do this lads COME ON!!!
-
looks like we're heading for a horrible grind today like the home game!
-
I am trying to to think like that USA
-
looks like we're heading for a horrible grind today like the home game!
Yeah, but we ended up winning that one in the end, I'd take a point now, we really have to get something today....
-
it will be 2-1 to alty but they will make us sweat as per usual
-
Grays 1 up
-
Too many people assumed that all we had to do today was turn up at Lewes and the three points would follow with ease.
We are a team who fail to convert so many of our goalscoring opportunities and I think that some individuals have forgotten how close we came to failing to defeat Lewes at Moss Lane back in September of last year.
-
At the risk of falling into the "We should be beating teams like this" trap, I will only be happy with a win.
I just hope we dont get the hand gestures etc of the home game v Lewes. Jennifer was very upset!

She wasn't the only one.
Still waiting to read an apology for that incident, too.
-
2 down
-
Jesus
-
awful... what on earth is going on!
-
For Christ's sake, cmon Alty. Get yer act together!
4 chances & 2 goals v 5 chances and no goals
-
John Laidlar's synopsis to date:
25 mins; afterAlty missed several half chances, Lewes take lead through Wheeler after error by McGregor.
Buoyed by goal, Alty struggling to assert selves.
40 mins still 1-0 to Lewes. Alty not playing well. Pace of Wheeler on right causing Alty problems.
41 mins Keehan heads home corner- 2-0 to Lewes
-
Looks like we're going to get Jack today apart a confidence sapping mauling.
-
Embarrassing.
-
ABSOLUTE GARBAGE >:( >:( >:(
I feel for those who travelled from Alty.
-
What a pile of absolute wank !!
As usual we play to the level of the team we are up against
-
We are getting dragged right back into it now.........will 47 be enough to keep us up? :-\
-
There will be language & hand gestures - but I think they will be in the dressing room at half time
-
Don't worry, we'll emulate Forest Green Rovers' recent display at Moss Lane and score five goals in the second half.....!
-
And so to Tuesday.
If we stay up we should consider just conceding southern away matches. It beyond a joke now....
I have to work this afternoon but would have gone today..some of those lads and lasses have travelled a 1000 miles this week.
Injury hit or not...this is poor.
We'll beat Eastbourne but its not the point
-
For Christ's sake, cmon Alty. Get yer act together!
feel sorry for all those who have gone down there
-
JUST GOT BACK IN FROM DEALING WITH THE TRAINS.This is getting silly,we should be beating teams like this :D.But seriously we do need to get a win from somewhere otherwise we will get dragged down into conferance north
-
possession down to 42%
-
At half time I think there are 1 or 2 players out there who will have to take a long hard look at themselves.
Playing for more than pride here
-
weymouth 1 down
-
Don't worry, we'll emulate Forest Green Rovers' recent display at Moss Lane and score five goals in the second half.....!
Cult, I admire your optimism. The only emulation of FGR going on is from Lewes, FGR ended what? An 8 game losing streak against us and Lewes are about to end an 18 game losing streak >:(
-
No pride in playing for Alty or so it seems,GH needs to kick ass as they say in the USof A
-
IF we go down - and I think we will just avoid it - then it's because we deserve to. Simple as that.
Cue another apology in Tuesday's programme!
-
If you discount Weymouth, which was a gimme, we haven't won in the league since 21st February. The only other teams we've beaten this year are Northwich and Woking.
It's not time to panic just yet but things are not looking good.
-
It pains me say this but since Elam left we've been wank.
-
Last time we got relegated proper,if i remember we were mid table and looking comfortable, then did not win a game for ages,is the a repeat.I wonder?
-
IF we go down - and I think we will just avoid it - then it's because we deserve to. Simple as that.
and the opposite is also true. if we stay up, and i think we will, then its because we deserve it over the season
woking down to 10 men
-
If you discount Weymouth, which was a gimme, we haven't won in the league since 21st February. The only other teams we've beaten this year are Northwich and Woking.
And, to be honest, we were rather fortunate to beat both of those teams, especially Vics.
They are looking like priceless victories now....
-
one good thing Northwich cannot catch us at all
-
Last time we got relegated proper,if i remember we were mid table and looking comfortable, then did not win a game for ages,is the a repeat.I wonder?
I was thinking that but didn't like to say.
I think we will survive this season as there are a couple of teams who are too poor to catch us.
-
one good thing Northwich cannot catch us at all
That will not ease my pain if we are relegated with them. :(
-
At half time I think there are 1 or 2 players out there who will have to take a long hard look at themselves.
Playing for more than pride here
Just the 1 or 2 ???
-
It pains me say this but since Elam left we've been wank.
For reasons sometimes unavoidable, we have simply not used/been able to use Elam & Denham enough. We held such high hopes for these 2 at the start of the season.
-
think JD was being kind there
-
The art of understatement!
-
John Laidlar's summary:
HT Alty 2-0 down and second best. Altrincham have barely strung two passes together since Lewes scored and will have to improve enormously to get anything from this game. Having wasted half a dozen half chances Alty have seen Lewes take both their chances well.
-
Mcgregor off and Wilkinson on
-
My mate at the game confirms Lewes are totally sh*t, had 2 chance and took them.
He also said Joe O Neill had chances and missed them because he is sh*t as well. But the sun is shining and the ales are very high quality.
-
Mcgregor off and Wilkinson on
Time to pack up..
-
Think they packed up @ 3:21pm
-
Agreed and i cannot see us scoring at all now
-
I'm so sorry for the poor sods who have gone all the way for that!
-
Its depressing.
-
So depressing I've just pulled out some nasal hair - and one of them as white
-
Vics 1-0 down.
And down.
-
as bad as we are at least some results are still going for us
-
Don't despair just yet......
.......Peyton on for Joe. ::)
-
One great goalscorer replaces another
-
Don't despair just yet......
.......Peyton on for Joe. ::)
An embarrassment of poverty.
-
Don't despair just yet......

An embarrassment of poverty.
Quality.....
the post, I mean
-
reckon we will go 442 now
-
I think what hurts me is that other team fans may be saying..."its only 2-0" you never know.
We know at half time there is no chance of anything happening in the 2nd half...
-
just glad i am in work today(overtime)because it will all be about the grand national on tv and i hate horse racing
-
We've had 5 shots on target to their 2, but what sort of quality were they?
-
I notice that one of Barrow's joint managers, Darren Sheridan, appears to be playing for them today.
The way we are plummeting, who would bet against our midfield line-up against Eastbourne Borough on Tuesday evening containing the names Heathcote and Barrow....?
-
I think what hurts me is that other team fans may be saying..."its only 2-0" you never know.
We know at half time there is no chance of anything happening in the 2nd half...
Depressingly spot on I'm afraid...... :(
-
It could be worse we could be 4-0 down like Burton Albion!!!
-
muff 2 down thank heaven
-
Weymouth 2 down at Eastbourne
Eastbourne safe - hopefully take their foot off the pedal!
-
Kiddy have turned around a 0-2 at ht to 4-2 i see
-
It could be worse we could be 4-0 down like Burton Albion!!!
Would swap places with them right now!!
-
I think what hurts me is that other team fans may be saying..."its only 2-0" you never know.

John Laidlar concurs:
82 mins - still 2-0 and not looking like changing
-
Woking with 10 men 1 up against Barrow 3 mins to go
-
Down to 17th....
-
useless think i will have a sandwich
-
Let's see what those who were there think. I'd say some sort of comment from GH on the main site is warranted in addition to persoanl apoligies for today.
Woking 1 up!
-
Could be a defining day of the season the way things are going. Worrying.
-
useless think i will have a sandwich
harold,
Don't end up with egg on your face like Alty today....
-
I think the players should be publicly flogged, they have shown no spirit at all since the new year
-
I hate that we have to rely on others to survive, whether it be others being thrown out of the league, going bust or playing even worse than us.
-
Lol cheshire cheese butties
-
Danylyk sent off now. Unbelievable!
-
Danylyk off
-
Lol cheshire cheese butties
Any pickle.....like the one Alty are now getting themselves into?
-
Just to top it and show we are ill disciplined as well..
-
another player who will be missing
-
Just to top it and show we are ill disciplined as well..
Thats been one of the problems the last few matches. We seem to have lost discipline in the way we are playing, not just apropos yellow & red cards
-
2 yellows in 2 mins.
Big help.
-
In the wise words of Marvin Gaye:
"What's Going On?"
-
a silly handball at 2-0 down when on a booking...
-
dreadful embarassing
-
i take it its all over BBC gone to sleep again
-
Full time.
Thats another record run we've managed to break: Gee! Well done Alty!
-
Tuesday crowd amended from 697 to 597
-
i take it its all over BBC gone to sleep again
Maybe even they could not believe what they are seeing!
-
I think cheshire league for us we might just hold our own then.I bet GH is really fed up with them
-

Don't Forget : "BRING A BUDDY" ;D ;D ;D
If you don't want them to be a buddy any more???
-
The next two home games are now massive..
-
Do Ashton have a game midweek?
We need bodies and we need them now!
-
The next two home games are now massive..
Shame the players probably won't think so
-
I hope the players reaction is one of great determination.
I fear they may just bottle it - I hope I am wrong
-
Just had a look at Ashton's fixtures and they have no game on Tuesday.
Let's hope Rod has stayed fit and has retained his eye for goal. How fitting it would be if he helped us to stay up!
-
Do Ashton have a game midweek?
We need bodies and we need them now!
Seems that Ashton have no game on Tuesday
Bring on Rod Thornley..he knows what playing for Alty is about
-
Today is a low point. However, it's important we draw a line under it and move on as quickly as possible!
I know we're all down and bitterly dissappointed but it's imperative that people turn up (players included!!) for Tuesday's game and give it 110%.
Together we can do this!
-
This was a match we needed to win. There are too many questions.
Who was up front with Little?
Why did we not have an attacking formation from the start?
Why was Peyton brought on instead of Denham?
Would you have been happy having to sit on the bench so often like Elam?
We should have had players wanting to go forward all the time and good enough to take on defenders all the time.
Why does Graham persist with Peyton? It can't be that there is nobody else can it?
I know we have problems with injuries but surely we can put out a team that looks like it might score.
-
Why was Peyton brought on instead of Denham?
The reason for this is that Peyton was at the match and Denham wasn't.
Simple.
-
Why was Peyton brought on instead of Denham?
Because Denham wasn't on the bench to hazard a guess
-
As above, just because players are named as subs doesn't mean they are able to play!
-
Danylyk came very close to a red card at Grays when it looked a lost cause and he also started getting a bit silly at Ebbsfleet.
This has been coming for a while unfortunately.

I am so f**ked off I can't even be arsed with questioning just how odd some of those questions are.
"Why did we not have an attacking formation from the start?" we played all the players we had..
-
Rather than persisting with Peyton, I think it is telling that he was sub when we have so few players. I guess he will be centre mid with injuries & suspensions
-
If, as I suspect that was Danylyk's second red of the season, I believe that he will get an extra match suspension
-
Like we're not peed off/depressed enough!
-
Danylyk came very close to a red card at Grays when it looked a lost cause and he also started getting a bit silly at Ebbsfleet.
This has been coming for a while unfortunately.
Indeed.
Booked at Moss Lane against Forest Green and then swiftly substituted.
His early season promise has dimmed in recent months, possibly following on from that bad injury sustained at York in late December.
-
Apparently Welch came over at the end and gave some fans some sh*t for not clapping the players off.
Sums up the attitude problems of some of this team perhaps. Bottlers!
Thats bollocks
He came over to clap the fans and they told him not to bother and some went a little OTT due to frustration...words were exchanged.
There will be enough crap on here tonight without this
-
Having seen most matches this season home and away I'm sure that Danylyk will be deeply disappointed with his red card. The Oxfod sending off was ridiculous but I cannot comment on today as I was not at the match in Lewes. Both himself and Densmore play with passion and commitment and a will to win. Unfortunately the long ball hoof approach we so often adopt leaves these midfielders left woefully under utilised and hence they are so often bypassed and we play into the opposition hands.
It's also interesting to note(as raised in an earlier post) that when Danylyk was so swiftyly substituted versus FGR the score was 2-2 the game ended at 2-5! Similarly when he came off versus Torquay the game was level end result lost 0-1.
For me let's play through the midfield and let the ball players do the talking on the pitch rather than bypass them week in week out with the Exocet approach.

Surely, those tactics are down to the manager. >:( >:( >:(

Just advising what I was told by a very frustrated fan at the game.

Then would you mind double checking it because the two people I have spoken to say that he came over to clap...during the tme when some fans were venting their anger. it seemed at him as he was nearest and he reacted.
Then if you are wrong would you mind editing the post please...
-
I've spoken to three people who were at the match today and all have said what Ecky has posted.
-
Well he has reacted then quite clearly, whether rightly or wrongly. Its how different people - in frustration - see whatever happened I suppose.
Don't want to make a big thing about it, lets leave it as it is. I'm sure others who were there will give their version of events if they see fit. For the sake of forum harmony I shall remove the post, although its hardly libellous.
After the inevitable post mortem of today, it all has to be put behind us and all efforts - from players and fans alike - has to go into the next few games, the immediate two especially. I'm sure they got another deserved bollocking from GH. Just hope it has the desired effect. I think it did after FGR - Crawley was a better effort - and the same is needed Tuesday.
-
To be fair supporters that have paid a lot of money to get down there surely have a right to speak their mind. I think the players and the manager should remember that sometimes.
-
After seeing the performance at Grays I warned that playing like that we would not beat Eastbourne, Grays or even Lewes. A response on this forum was "Why wont we beat Lewes?"
We turned out a similar performance today yet people are surprised at the result. We were awful particularly in the first half and overall did not deserve to win.
We had chances but did not take them and their keeper pulled off a couple of good saves, and we dominated the match.
I thought the Ref was quite good today though we should have had two second half penalties and the corner that the Refs Assistant gave from which they scored the second goal was a goalkick ( I was at that end at the time). Danylyk's second yellow was a silly automatic reaction in a position where there was no threat.
The performance today was woeful and fans are entitled not to clap at the end if they deem it to be appropriate. Clapping that type of performance could be viewed as sarcasm. The incident with Welchy at the end appeared to be one particular fan that was hurling abuse. It got to a situation that our own fans were having a go at each other, which we could do without, but it was also at the heat of the moment. We actually had a good following today.
We are still in the relegation equation like it or not. I was recently criticised on this forum for referring to what happened last time we actually went down. Some of us are old enough to remember what has happend in the past and dont like things haunting us or history repeating itself.
-
We were absolutely woeful today, a la Stevenage in September, no excuses. Fair play to Lewes their fans gave it the big one at the end but so would I after 18 straight defeats. While it was 0-0 both O'Neill and Little really should have scored, after that it was appalling. The first goal we really should have dealt with and when the second went in I doubt there was an Alty fan in the ground who thought we'd do anything other than get beat. A big concern was the 2 Graham's just standing arms folded there whilst the game went on, no Plan B it seemed from the touchline and no inspiration, I know our team virtually picks itself at the mo but Lewes were not a good side and we didn't offer anywhere near enough.
The incident with Welch at the end was when the whole team (other than Stu who has been with us 10 years and understands like no other player how we all feel at times like this) walked off without applauding us, and the players on this occasion were right in detecting the mood on the terraces so wisely walked off. Welch applauded the fans (a large number of whom didn't bother to reciprocate, arms folded) but almost tried to stare us out and dare us to applaud him back, people weren't interested and there was bit of verbals, he gave some back and then walked back to the dressing room. I think Welch will be a fine player for us but he has to realise at times like this that the fans aren't mugs and our support has to be earned, today it wasn't. Danalyk's red card was the height of stupidity and his head down, straight down the tunnel acknowledged this.
We still have enough to get out of this but today does not bode well at all.

In a nutshell.
-
Exactly, and spot on. Just home and about to post my beer fuelledtirade but done perfectly.
Three points is all I wanted, today I thought they'd come. Now I wonder if we'll get another one.
SORT IT OUT
-
It's extremely depressing that Lewes have contrived to concede 81 league goals this season and we have only managed to contribute one goal to that shameful tally.
Since the encouraging performance at Burton Albion, we really seem to have gone backwards.
Worrying.
-
Can i please say it is probably my fault for welchy coming over at the end of the game to the fans ,i have always instilled in to him win lose or draw at the end of any game he has to ackn,he reallyowledge that fans have paid good hard earned money to watch their beloved team,he would have been very dissapointed at the result and would have only responded in frustration if someone had given him abuse, what a difference a week makes highs and lows,he really is enjoying his time with Altrincham and hopefully he will be with you next year.
also if any one is interested in his goals they are on his website michael-welch.co.uk
-
it should have read acknowledge, the guinness is flowing sorry
-
was at lewes today, the performance and aftermatch handbags have been sumed up perfectly, lewes fans seemed a nicer bunch than those that visited ML. nice ground too had a certain character about it.
in my opinion what ruinied our season (no matter where we finish) was the enforced lay off over christmas just as we were gaining momentum after a win against Vics and a come from behind victory away to york (then we didn't play for 3 weeks and things began to stutter from there) - in my opinion
-
Mr Duke you could be correct and the amount of injuries we have suffered on a limited budget.
Come on Alty

I'm guessing your his Dad. I couldn't go yesterday but I bet on reflection people can now see what Welchy was trying to do. As Sarf London Alty says, Welchy was unfortunate enough to try and clap the fans and bore the brunt of it. The other players decided that probably would not be the best idea.
One thing about Alty fans though. Most of them are pretty fair, its never a case of we lost so we don't clap. We all stayed and clapped at Ebbsfleet on Tues after the defeat because we did OK.
However they are not mugs....and it cost a lot of people a lot of money yesterday to see that.

Lewes is a lovely town, good pubs, great beer, and The Dripping Pan is a unique venue. We may never return but a good day out despite the result and abject performance. Nice people, how many other grounds in this league can we stand side by side with the opposition.

I couldn't begrudge them having a bit of banter after the season they've had but I don't think I could've stood next to them for much longer!

I think fair enough for their fans after the season they've had.
A glorious sunny day, a fantastic location, some nice pubs and some good company. All in all, it was worth the flight over, but if it had been for the football alone it would have been a disaster. Only one word can sum up that display "inept" (ranks as one of the worst displays I've seen in over thirty years). We made a very poor side look half-decent and if we play like that in our next games we will see no more points accrued this season. The incident with Welch at the end was just a break-down in communications on both sides and should be forgotten about. Sarf London Alty summed the whole thing up very well.
This has to be put down to one of those days so long as we learn from it. I still have the hope we can get some more points on the board. It's hope that keeps you going as a supporter. So on Tuesday night, I'll be sat chewing nails and pulling hair out (what's left of it) whilst I wait for updates and if I were still in the area (or even country), I'd be there.
COME ON ALTY.

Wasn't there on Saturday so can't comment on specifics, we have been here many times before though. Feelings of anger and frustration running high on and off the field at the end of the match, everyone wanting to have their say.We cannot change the result, we just have to reflect on what went wrong and each do our best to make it better next time. We are running on the bare minimum available players at the moment, so there is a lot of pressure on everyone not to let themselves and the club down. Let's get behind the team tomorrow night, without letting our emotions get the better of us.
Come on You Reds
