One for those Alty supporters of a certain vintage here......but the Manchester Evening News on Tuesday reported the recent death of their former Non-League Football correspondent, Doug Peacock.

If you followed Alty's fortunes during those halcyon days of the late 1970s and early 1980s, then you will probably remember Doug Peacock's reports and articles on the Robins in the MEN and the old Saturday Football Pink.

I had many a chat with him in the Main Stand during those years and he was always worth sounding out about the latest Non-League gossip.
