Did anyone else on here ever play for Stamford Lads, as managed by the former Crewe Alexandra left full-back and Hale-based window cleaner Peter Leigh?

I didn't play for them, but I remember playing against them a few times...

Hale Barnes United were THE team when I was a lad. One of my junior school mates, Alan Richardson played for them.

JD, was Alan Richardson a builder in Hale Barns? Or more accurately, was his Dad a builder?

I played for Melrose Wanderers and we would lose every game heavily - unless we played Partington, when we usually won. Melrose Wanderers were based at Halecroft Park.

I lost touch after junior school, but I remember his older brother was an Ian, so could be!
