AFC WIMBLEDON FORECAST SUNDAY GREY CLOUD WITH LIGHT SNOW FORECAST FOR 12.00 MAX TEMP 2 MIN TEMP 1 MONDAY GREY CLOUD MAX TEMP 3 MIN TEMP 1 TUESDAY GREY CLOUD MAX TEMP 3 MIN TEMP 1. AT LEAST NOTHING BELOW FREEZING.

Still highly unlikely I reckon.
They would have to clear the pitch of snow to allow the pitch to even start thawing, doubt they will do that today.
The drainage pipes underneath could also be frozen and not allow any melting snow (water) to get away so that could lead to waterlogging.
And as they need to make a decision on Tuesday morning I reckon its a no go.
-
If is postponed again, what happens? Does Ebbsfleet get called off and play Wimbledon? Or does sense then come in and decide to play league fixture and Trophy happens midweek?
-
Though I may be wrong, I think Trophy takes precedence over midweek league matches, but not weekend games. It's this part of the season when we thank God we haven't got the CSC to worry about as well.

Ebbsfleet would still go ahead as planned, weather permitting.

I think if it's off this Tuesday it moves to a week Tuesday, which means the Mansfield game is moved.
I reckon we should play Mansfield as late as posssible so the statutory 2 red cards don't the normal damage.

Well, there is a massive change in the 5 day forecast for the south east since yesterday.
I find it strange that Kingston that is only 15 miles away is 3C warmer than Redhill.
The temperature currently is 3C here, the snow is beginning to thaw - now only 7cms deep in my back garden, but there are still fine snow showers. Still cant attempt to get my car out of my garage.
For the match to be played on Tuesday I would think that they would have to brush away the snow today and hope the new temperature forcast of above freezing for the next 2 nights is correct. Today it looks possible the the temperatures may permit the game to go ahead on Tuesday - yesterday there was no chance.
-
Half my lawn is now visible, and the pavements outside are clearing fast. Provided it stays above zero tonight I think there is a chance.
For Redhill, Rob, for some reason Redhill is generally one of the coldest places in the South East, and often is substantially colder than even nearby Croydon. I really don't know why, but I believe it may be in a frost hollow.
-
is it going to be on the radio if its on? I think a lot of fans, myself included will struggle to get down their considering the current weather and short notice etc
-
One thing is for sure, we will need Southern Alty for this one to ensure we have at least someone there!
-
Thinking about this, anyone see a reason why , having regard to the thaw and forecast, the clubs couldn't agree to switch this to Wednesday? It would give the pitch, teams and supporters more time.
-
I'll be there if it's on as long as I'm not required to work late.
-
its been thawing like crazy in east london

AFC WIMBLEDON FORECAST SUNDAY GREY CLOUD WITH LIGHT SNOW FORECAST FOR 12.00 MAX TEMP 2 MIN TEMP 1 MONDAY GREY CLOUD MAX TEMP 3 MIN TEMP 1 TUESDAY GREY CLOUD MAX TEMP 3 MIN TEMP 1. AT LEAST NOTHING BELOW FREEZING.
Are George Heslop and Dianne Oxberry actually the same person...?

I intend going if its on this Tuesday. However I had written off any chance of that happening after the bitterly cold weather yesterday. I had half diarised that it would be played on Tuesay 19th Jan. There has been a surprising thaw today but there were still fine snow showers and it still felt cold.
I would also encourage all those Alty fans living in the South East to go to the match and also Ebbsfleet on Saturday.

No, she's got nicer legs - though I suspect George has a bigger chest !
-
I am armed and ready to hit Kingston at very short notice. I reckon I can be in-situ with 45 mins notice from Bank.
SING UP!!!

Cult. You should be ashamed of yourself making your Carer accompany you on a shopping trip to Sainsbury's, even though she's on crutches. However, you failed in your main aim which was to find enough snow to construct a model of Ian Tunnacliffe.

There's an Ian Tunnacliffe snow model on Hermitage Road if any of you are passing through!
-
I live about 15 miles from Kingston but it is now snowing fairly heavily in my part of south London, oh dear. Another game off I'd say at this rate.... >:(
-
No further snow in the KT area and its still just above freezing. A decent thaw today but still a fair way to go.

Mister Heslop,
It will teach her to read the small print on the pre-nuptial contract the next time she gets married.
Anyhow, at least I know where Sainsbury's in Altrincham is located.
You should be ashamed, sending poor Jenny out on her own to battle through such Arctic conditions, whilst you are at home in the warmth watching Murder She Wrote or Countdown, just so that you have a Fray Bentos pie for your evening meal.
I reckon that all the snow currently lying on the Moss Lane pitch might just amount to enough to construct a snowman homage to the peerless Tunna in the style of The Angel Of The North.
-
SLA's snow arrived in KT3 overnight but not too much. Currently 1C.

From AFC Wimbledon's official site:
Monday 11 January 2010
club news
Altrincham update
There has been no improvement in the pitch conditions since the end of last week and it is extremely unlikely tomorrow night's game against Altrincham in the FA Trophy will go ahead.
A formal inspection will take place at approximately 1.30 pm today.
-
Their site now says it's off :
"Altrincham postponed again
Following a brief inspection of the pitch a few minutes ago, tomorrow night's game has been postponed. It is now scheduled to take place, weather permitting, on Tuesday 19 January, kick off 7.45 pm."
