Title: Absolutely fuming here
Post by: andrewflynn on February 16, 2016, 08:36:50 PM
Not only are we playing badly, but we've surrendered a large fragment of our home advantage by allowing Chester fans into the popular side. We are supposed to be at f**king home. No other club in the league would over accommodate away fans like that. As a result we've zero chance of willing the team on vocally in the second half.

Sorry to open up this whole saga again but I'm very disappointed in the club. These are fans that tried ripping the fencing down a few months ago. They've let two smoke bombs off under that roof tonight. So we've afforded them this respect, for what exactly? Bring a f**king coat.

Looking forward to being the nicest club in the Conference North.

0-3 and we are stood here like practical away fans. Third smoke bomb goes off just metres to our left. Absolutely farcical.

I doubt whether Chester fans not being in the popular side or Reeves being in the starting X1 would have made the slightest difference tonight. The text updates have us being absolutely battered.
Down and out I'm afraid.

Left early.

Left after 3 rd goal, we have not been battered, we just have not turned up. Completely flat and lack luster from the start. I do not understand it, but I will not stand and watch it. Really annoyed at he complete lack of effort from most of the players.

Also need segregation in the main stand. Really frustrating having gloating away fans in and amongst us.

I left after the third as well. It was garbage that. Of course the result wasn't down to the segregation. However, when Altrincham fans had to stand there and watch as away fans are accommodated into our terraces, it took a bite out of the vocal support that was never regained. Can't put into words how annoyed I am at that farce tonight.

Indeed, where Chester fans were allowed to stand makes no difference to the fact that our team served up dogsh*t sandwiches from minute 1 to paying Alty fans tonight. Truly shockingly inept when you can't pass a ball 5 yards to a team-mate.

It does to me, I go every game and got overlooked tonight yet again, this time for the same people that ripped fences down in the FA Cup game

Yep. It's not about the team at all tonight. It's about the club and how they've, again, let the regular paying fans down by fencing us like cattle into a proportion of the ground that renders our vocal support useless. I had a proper "why bother" moment tonight. So annoyed.

Anyway, far from relegated. We can't play worse than that this season, surely. Onwards boys.

Agree with all the above. Beyond hacked off with this repeated farce. No doubt someone from the club will be along soon with a good explanation of why it is done.

There can be no good explanation for last night. You can't defend what was happening off the pitch or on it

I'd be tempted to offer Darren a day's pay to come back and run the stewarding for Chester Macc and Tranmere.

If anybody has a problem with the stewarding at moss lane instead of having a go at what they do go and see the head steward and offer your services I am sure they would snap you up straight away as they have only ten regulars who are at games very early to make sure things are ok the rest of the stewards are made up from local team's and are paid more than are own stewards.

Stewarding isn't a problem, we've got a segregated away end

Precisely. And it should be used 100%. Southport don't invite us in when it rains....and it usually does.

Why the hell is the default reply to any complaint, criticism or suggestion always "you can always volunteer your services to help with X, y or z". If we wanted to be stewards etc we would apply. Some people just want to pay their money and watch a football match.

The reason being is because with out stewards there would be no football.ive been to moss lane when are own fans have let flares off also been to away games Exeter,Southport and are fans have known it was open at away end. It started to rain and after complaining we have been put in there stands.so it does happen away from home as well .

Are they? It seems last night was an in-house choice

It's nothing to do with volunteer stewards, stop being so defensive. It's to do with us being far too nice to away fans. Countless Chester in the main stand, dozens on the Golf Road and the popular side shambles.

Me giving up my time and volunteering won't change that, and we're quite entitled to moan considering the fans that are jeapordised are the ones that go across the country following Altrincham.

Hilarious how accommodating we are whilst home fans get let down.

I had to pay to go in the stand and transfer at Exeter so that's pushing the truth and had to sit down

My advice to you all would be to ask for a meeting between chairman head steward and yourselves to sort your issues out..  Ps as for my spelling not really bothered more important things in life .

According to Devachat(which seems believable as a Rupert Murdoch publication), it was the Chester stewards who seemed to be influential in the decision of putting away supporters under cover.

Well I was in the ground early last night, and there was a lady Chester steward constantly in "discussions" with our stewards from well before kick off, and it continued constantly until they move into the pop side.

There should have been a compromise. At half-time their fans could have been asked to vacate the area. We are then being accommodating without jeopardising the home supporters' experiences.

Mmm. Guess where the flares would have been shoved at that ill-judged suggestion.

My wife, son and I were charged (I think) £2 each to transfer when it rained at Exeter

Not like me to be negative I know, but that was really poor last night. Hope Lee and Neil offer some explanation, but for me Chester deserved the win, they were more committed, more incisive and played as if they really wanted to win. They also played well above a side in that league position.

I only hope this spurs the team on to greater things in their ongoing games, because too many games like this and we will be fighting relegation with a team which is collectively too good to go down. We must win games against sides around us , and not just get good results against higher placed teams. They are all there to be beaten, but teams around us seem to see us as winnable games. Other teams will follow this up; lets prove them wrong starting this Saturday because I am concerned about future drops in attendances. The last thing we needed was to lose so badly whatever the reason at this stage of the season.

So come on lads, I went home really disappointed last night, play like I know you can and we will get behind you.

AND LET THE AWAY FANS GET WET.

Exeter, Southport, Forest Green (when they were proper wank), Macc, York, Dagenham to name just a few, have open away ends and house the away fans there.  This is taken as given. I didn't see their stewards using to let us in, or any of our stewards asking them to move us, and nor would I expect them to.

Treat everybody the same. It's February, it's going to be cold and wet. Bring a coat and an umbrella or pay an extra quid to sit down in the main stand, just like we have to do. It's not f**king rocket science.

We are absolutely NOT too good to go down.

Football history is littered with teams who were "too good to go down". And if we become another of them this season it'll be mostly due to our frustrating inconsistency. .
