No great loss, based on his performances (or lack of) this season. He does have class.... he just didn't show it. Bringing in probably 2 players for the equivalent of the wages that were spent on him will be a boost to the squad.

Left back Kevin Sandwith released by Chester. Maybe, just maybe...

Gareth had potential but was never fit enough and too injury prone.

Anyway all the best Gareth

Before the season he was supposed to be going to Northwich but we stole him. Great  ::)

I doubt that will happen now though as I think it was his ex Bradford colleague Redfearn who wanted to sign him.

How's the property business going? The one he was starting up and thus wanted part time football?

According to a (normally very reliable source) who also informed me  on saturday morning about mr shottons possible return, Mr Whalley seemed quite disappointed at being released.

Good riddance.

I think this a little harsh. There have been accounts of alleged - errm - discussions with Gareth.

Lets give him the benefit of the doubt and I suggest he came with the best of intentions and has been frustrated by his injuries & our form not allowing him to play as he would have wished. He was always a decent pro elsewhere.

Players who tell our fans to "f*ck off" have no place at this club.
