Val was the pivottal final piece of the jigsaw, slotting in next to Eddie and behind Colin and Marcus and thundered us through at kettering in the semi and then put the seal on things with a typically unorthodox bullet header against eastbourne that went in because Val decided that was where the ball was going to go.

Ive heard he can get a Mc donalds breakfast at 10:40. Thats the measure of the man!
Some say....Val can get a McD's breakfast at 10:40! Is he the Stig?

Vals a footballer of great character and strength; good luck Val

Totally agree - Val has been an absolute star for alty and very sad to see him go.  Don't think any of us will ever forget his contributions in the play-offs, especially for me the excitement of the match at Kettering.  Wish Val all the best for the future!

Also - Stockportalty - remember when you bumped into him at the petrol station at Tesco? I don't think he could quite get over being recognised!  Celebrity status!  ;D

I had the fortune to encounter Val Owen at The Trafford Centre today.
We had the honour of letting him have our parking space as we escaped from the hell within.

Nice to have the opportunity to thank him for all his efforts on behalf of Altrincham FC and wish him well in the future (perhaps we could have done with him on the bench against Southport...?!).

He did ask me what on earth had happened against Southport in the FA Trophy.
Frankly, I didn't know where to begin....
