No Sinnott Jnr, thank you very much.
Get real Lee, or get lost.
-
How ridiculous, so you want Lee to go already?
-
No,I want him to stop picking his totally useless son.

1500 up.
-

No, he is being offered a choice.
-
In fairness I can only go from John Laidlar and listening to RR, but I don't really think Sinnott Jnr has let us down.
He's certainly not the best player to wear an Alty shirt, but he's certainly not the worst.
-

No, he is being offered a choice.
To clarify, if the manager doesnt stop picking Jordan Sinnott then his position is untenable?
Is that what you mean?
-
I wouldn't say he's 'totally useless' - but we all know Williams and Wilkinson had a bit more about them - and they both got released.
In any case, the 2 more pressing changes would be to bring in Richman for Parry and Crowther for Bowerman - same setup with Lawrie trying to support Rankine as much as possible
-
I'm not sure Williams and Wilkinson had any more about them. Williams was something of a headless chicken, and Wilkinson was truly anonymous for about 90% of the time he spent on the pitch from what I saw.
I suspect they have become better players now they are no longer here.
I agree about Parry and Bowerman. I do find it odd how, in the last two games, two defenders (Parry and Heathcote) have been pressed into midfield service while a genuine midfielder (Crowther) has sat on the bench.

I don't think you really wanted to start a match thread, did you?
I've read in a few places that Braintree like to play up to the referee, we'll need to be on our best behaviour. Hoping Richman is fit, it will transform the side if we have him back. Three points are essential, and well within our capabilities at home.
-
If Richman is fit he must come back in - but if there's any danger of a repeat of Southport, leave him out of the picture completely for Saturday. The crying need is for a left-sided midfielder who is (a) able & (b) prepared to tackle back & support Griffin. Clee has quite often acted as auxiliary full-back to help out against speedy right-sided opponents, but none of our current options (actual or potential) in this position seems either able or willing to perform this task. I remain uncertain of Bowerman - too often he has his head down & seems totally unaware of his team-mates - but Reeves seems so ring-rusty that to bring him in might be a risk; on balance I'd take that risk at this point. O'Keefe should stay on the bench; Parry didn't do badly playing in front of the back four on Tuesday.
As to Braintree's reported approach - not much we can do about that except to try not to get involved - having had one lot of stirring Southern sons of unmarried parents on Tuesday we may perhaps know what to expect to some degree - and to hope for a strong referee (fat chance ...)
-
What is it with some of the southern teams in this league that they feel the need to stick out their chins in the hope of getting a reaction or employ intimidating tactics against the opposition and / or officials
I could understand it if they had small person syndrome but the whingers from Eastleigh the other night were big lads..
The officials should grip these clowns and yellow card them when players attempt to intimidate them.

It is a bizarre urban myth that there is a difference between the behaviour of players based on what part of the country they come from. Kyle Perry and Chris Denham were two of the most cynical players around when the mood took them. Everybody's got them and we just need to be streetwise when coming up against such opponents.

Yes agree
The same applies to so called "being bullied" by the opposition.........we need to stop whinging (not the players to be fair) about being 'bullied' and just make sure we don't get 'bullied'. It's nothing to do with size either when it comes to football.........nobody ever bullied Billy Bremner and he was the smallest player in the division. I don't recall hearing of Paul Scholes being bullied either

Whilst Williams was no Eddie Hussin he was certainly a lot better than Sinnott. Let's get real, Jordan Sinnott is not producing performances that warrant him even being in the squad let alone the first team in central midfield and taking all corners and free kicks.

I think he has improved however the problem is he seems to play regardless against tranmear he didn't play well came off looking completely knackered yet started 2 days later against southport

Exactly. It is bloody obvious why he starts every game and it is not because of his football ability. Hurry back Nicky and Simon FFS, that should keep him out, or will it?

He is absolute S***E in this league. FFS he could not hack it in Conference North when he was here before. Do you remember Stalybridge at New Tear? GET OVER YOURSELF.

It is no wonder so many don't use the forum any more when there is this sort of vendetta against a player.
Jordan is certainly not the best player we have, but in the RR broadcasts I have listened to he has pulled his weight and done a reasonable job.
-
In my opinion, Jordan Sinnott is a convenient stick for one or two people to beat the manager with. If he wasn't playing, they would look for another reason to have a go.
-
I think Sinnott has improved from last year and in the games ive seen he's been no better or worse than anyone else
-
Think Sinnott has played quite well.
The vendetta against him on this forum is beyond tedious.

although he has improved if he was a decent player he would not be the convenient stick at the end of the day people might as well get used to him in his first spell watmore was left out for him so what chance as crowther he isn't much cop anyway

We’re in a position now where Jordan Sinnott has started all ten of our games this season; along with Shaun Densmore, Adam Griffin, James Lawrie and Jake Moult. While I’ll openly say that he’s not performed to the same high standard as some of his team mates, I’m not going to accept these now extremely tedious remarks that he’s not been ‘good enough’ or that he doesn’t ‘contribute enough.’
He has quite clearly been a factor in us being sat four points clear after a hellacious start to the season (after we face Braintree on Saturday, we've played nine of the league's current top ten teams.) We are where we are because as a collective team we have performed to a certain standard. Some fans have a naïve and quite frankly weird habit of always wanting to isolate players, criticising them separately from the progress that the team are making.
At the end of the day our current alternatives to Jordan Sinnott are Josh O'Keefe and Ryan Crowther. If you want these players to swap roles, and you want us to go into games with either of them starting, then you’re deluded. One has been toss, and I can't even call the other a luxury because he just comes on and does step overs before kicking it out of touch at the by-line. Sinnott has outperformed them both this season, hence why O’Keefe and Crowther are now quite rightly warming the bench. Neither have started in any games where we have gained points, albeit Crowther scored against Cheltenham.
It just does my head in when the same people come on here and berate Sinnott when we’ve got the likes of O’Keefe and, let’s face facts, Damian Reeves who’ve done absolutely f**k all with every opportunity they’ve been given this season.
-
To be fair to crowther he hasn't had an opportunity to prove himself so the manager has kept a player he doesn't rate I'm also not convinced by him but from what I've seen and granted that's not much Sinnott jnr hasn't been good enough to make crowther unselectable I will add that we should've sorted the right midfield out as it still remains our weakest position
-

Definitely agree about right midfield, I think its a farce that we've gone this long without a genuine right winger.
Sinnott hasn't set the world alight, granted, but he's been a steady performer in a team that has navigated through a ridiculously tough start and for that he keeps his place in the team above Crowther.

I take you were also the school bully, because all you ever do is continuously groan and moan about the same people. Quite tiresome and pathetic to be honest.

That's probably the team I'd select if i were manager, but I can't see Lee selecting 3 centre backs let alone 2 strikers we'll see though.

I would give that team a chance.

I've said before not a fan of wingback but with the lack of goals I would be tempted to play this team

Sinnott jnr is getting in not due to the injury situation, but as he was signed as first choice starter all along. And we all knew it
Unfortunately it is a sign of how poor our midfield summer signings were that Sinnott was actually the best one
Why better players were allowed to leave is beyond me

I'm pretty sure that's the team that was suggested before Eastleigh, too. I like the look of it. We need to get Reeves match fit -and more importantly scoring.
I wonder whether Lee thinks it's the wrong time to implement new formations - we switched to 3 centre halves to accommodate Higginbotham 2 years ago and it failed pretty badly.
-
How has he lined up the team today? I'm not there, so I can't comment. Moult dropped to the bench...?
-
Dire first half. Reeves looks like Gillespie, Parry having a mare, Rankine looks knackered. Lawrie half asleep, Braintree winning everything aerial.
-
Lovely weather though
-
Braintree in control, much timewasting. Parry is awful today
-
Braintree should be 4 up, two bad misses
-
Can anyone enlighten me as to what Jordan Sinnott has (in footballing terms) that Jake Moult doesn't, as I'm really struggling with that one - this is a serious question.
-
He's been poor today, think Moult has a knock though
-
Okeefe howler gifts the 3rd. Worst game since Welling
-
Shambles....
-
The excuse is always the same though. Lee Sinnott is NEVER EVER going to drop his own son. He could be blindfolded and have one leg and still play. It's not the main reason why I don't go to games as much anymore, but it's still a reason. There were better trialists in preseason and it s very, very demoralising. I'm not at the game today, but I'm sick of reading match day updates like 'Poor ball by Sinnott' and 'Given away by Sinnott'. Obviously, today's result is not entirely down to him, but having one of the worst number 10s in our history automatically starting every match is just a bit crap. Did we sign O'Keefe just to make Sinnott look better? That's also a serious question.
-
That's what happens when a football team plays against a rabble. Too many (if not all) had an off day today, midfield is simply far too powder puff.We may get away with 1 of them but 2 or 3 of that midfield today were passengers, and when O'Keefe comes on to help out you know you're f*cked.
Credit to Braintree, they did well and scored a couple of crackers late on, they even stopped time wasting and play acting when they twigged how sh*t we are and what an opportunity it was to get their goal difference up.
-
Simon Richman was clearly not 100% fit, or suffered a recurrence of his injury. He was limping quite a bit and feeling his leg.

Indeed, Simon wasn't being criticised - he put his full effort in and it was his first game back after injury, but he can't do it all on his own. Let's hope he and Jake Moult are OK for Tuesday as they pretty much are our midfield. Hope Shaun Densmore is OK too.

I assume their keeper will not need to sleep on the bus home............not sure why he was time wasting at 2-0 up either.

Odd that. I was on the Golf Road and it looked like he handed something to the ref. Could have been something that had been blown onto the pitch or knocked of the top of the fencing. All very odd cos there's no way it could have impacted the game or him. Actually I now I think about it he was probably just finding something to do during the game.

If we had been 2-0 up with 25 minutes left, do you we'd have been in a hurry?

There was a large group of about 20 11/12 year olds who i have not seen at any match before they came up the away end in the first half to try and goad
the Braintree fans with no success, They also tried to annoy a ball boy but to his credit give as good back and they didn't like it. The item thrown on the pitch i was informed it was a water bomb.
-
Im pretty sure a few of the lads in the group were at the Eastleigh game on Tuesday too, mainly shouting abuse at their keeper Noice. They started off ok but their language got choicer as the game went on (and they realised their Mum was not there to tell then to stop ;)). Looks like they might have told their mates how much fun it is being able to use bad language and get away with it and things got out of hand.
