Title: INELIGIBLE PLAYERS
Post by: anglo alty on December 18, 2014, 07:03:05 PM
When the draw for the FA Cup 3rd round was made and Worcester / SC**thorpe  were drawn at home to Chesterfield it was pointed out that Chesterfields inclusion was awaiting the result of an enquiry by the FA into them playing an ineligible player. The result of the enquiry was they were guilty and ordered to replay their 2nd round tie with MK Dons. Why weren't they kicked out as has happened with several non league clubs. Has anyone any thoughts on this

Forest Green Grassers using this as part of their argument to have their match REPLAYED.

Luckily the FA have said it's conference rules take the 3 point penalty.

Hypocritical buggers FGR mind you fa showing consistency...remember the Stalybridge match?

Why when Stalybridge fielded an ineligible player against Altrincham in the FA Cup was the match replayed? Why weren't they just thrown out?

I have a few mates who are season ticket holders at CFC and also know the physio very well.............when they played an ineligible player and moaned about them potentially being thrown out of the competition I pointed out that they benefited from this a few years ago when they had been beaten by Droylsden who were then kicked out. He replied that the Bloods had played a player who was suspended and should not be playing for anyone, whereas they had played a player on loan with the permission of the parent club and had notified the FA by telephone of this. Apparantly the notification needs to be in writing. He was confident that nothing would come of it because Bradford did the same thing a few years ago and were 'let off'............so they were pretty surprised when told to replay the game.........they thought they would either be kicked out altogether (which considering Bradford they thought would be harsh) or they would be reinstated.

Ironically MK Dons do not want to replay the game and have sided with Chesterfield...........for some reason they are more than happy to be 'out'

The technically being elegible argument didn't wash in the Robinson affair.

There is also the question of prize money about 18k i think Chesterfield should at least have to forfeit that if they win again. There is also the question of MK Dons having to travel again should Chesterfield have to pay their expenses. It seems they are being punnished as well
