Today's match
« on: November 08, 2008, 08:11:28 PM »

Just got back from the game today.
A very good and entertaining match considering there were no goals and not many clear chances.
I think a draw was a fair result. Luton started the better side, though by half time it was clear that an Alty win was there for the taking.
We defended very well, at the same time we were looking to attack whenever possible.
Alty support was magnificent and singing non stop from 2.30pm til 5pm.
Luton vocal support non existant apart from a few in the small terrace next to the away end.
Very poor crowd and lots expencive and waste of time stewards. So we wont make any money out of today.

Completely agree. Not the greatest football in the first half, but in the second I thought we dominated most of the play. Elam looked incredibly sharp, maybe proving a point to GH for leaving him on the bench?

We (the fans) were fantastic and didn't stop singing all afternoon.

Here's to a win in the replay

I thought Elam had looked sharp all season?

Maybe it was purley tactical?

Great result btw- could not make it today - looking forward like hell to the replay :)

Got to say I think GH got it right.

Luton came out of the blocks fast and were strong, too strong for my liking but the ref didnt seem to mind - cough W***K*R

Second half we attacked and Luton looked dead on their feet with 15 to go.

Elam came on with effect and terrorised the defense, and to be honest so did Dale, they looked good up front together.

Had Elam played from the start we may have been  a little too open, but who knows we may have had more chances for us. A difficult call but I do think GH got it right on the day.

Mext Tuesday I do however expect and hope we take a different approach and I sure GH will be forumlating his plan as I type this, well maybe not perhaps the team will be having a cheeky shandy instead.

Crowd 10/10 - same again next week.

WE'RE HERE WE'RE FROM ALTRINCHAM

Would prefer to see Elam coming off the bench and running at tired defenses, far more effective, however, I would not mind playing exactly the same game next Tuesday and going to the lottery that is penalties

Bit of feedback from the players.

They thought we were fantastic today and 350 of us sounded like 1,000 or more. We were the 12th man!

Lets do the same for the replay.

I would prefer to see him playing 90 minutes.

IMO one of our players of the season so far.
