Wonder if he will resume his job as a postman.... back in the day of his first time at Alty.

We won't really need him though when Doughty's fit. I reckon we should either make do without a second left back or get someone on loan untill Matt is fit.

I still think danny can do a good job for us. However his lack of pace may cause some problems. He's a good defender, but i think we urgently need a couple centre backs to come in.

Ryan Brown's been operating on the left of midfield in pre-season so far, with Marc Joseph on the left of defence.

That's where you will get the best out of him. He was caught out to many times at Vics when playing as a pure left back. Nice to hear he's doing well.

Did he ever take free kicks for you lot?

I think that Adams will be used as a bit part player. He still does have the 'football brain', but as we saw with Tinson, lack of pace at this level and you will get punished (though arguably Danny has never been the fastest).

Tuesday will be the first time I think we will see close to a starting 11. If Clee does start as I expect, Brown would be at left back and Williams and Joseph in the middle. From the 2 games I've seen (Nantwich and Trafford), Joseph has the potential to be Young's replacement. Young learned a lot with his time with Tinson and McGregor, while Williams learned from Young last season, and could learn from the experience of Joseph this season.

I feel we won't see a fully fit Doughty until Christmas, due to him not having had a proper pre-season.

Joseph looks good.
A good passer of the ball, but not as good ar Youngy in the air.
Don't see Danny as a first choice defender.

Wasn't Danny used as centre half on occassion by Morecambe?
He would be a very good reserve.

Thought Heywood looked decent yesterday. Danny looked a little too slow, but may do well as simply back-up

Heywood looked good in the air, but you'd expect that at his height. Not sure about his distribution though.
