Right then, let's really test where the mood currently sits, based on what we presently know...
Given Lee's record of steady improvement season-on-season, I'm going for a lofty 16th place 8)
I may very well come back and revisit this after the Port Vale game ???
-
12th
-
14th
-
17th Again
-
11th if we sign a proven scorer. 15th if we don't.
If we DO get a top half finish, we should be able to attract better players for 2016-7 who MIGHT just get us to the playoffs.
-
I might cause a bit of trouble here but here goes .... we might finish higher than last season .... maybe even 10th
-
Between 12th and 18th depending on how many points we get !
-
I'm going for 16th.
Bring it on.
This squad does look stronger than last year.
-
I know I put my head on the block a little in previous postings, but I am going to go for 12th also, a finish higher is not impossible.
-
Even if we improve we may not finish any higher as the 4 who have come up will probably better than the 4 that went down barrow and guiseley will be nearer the mid table than the bottom also the southern sides that come up normally have a few quid also we may get sused out teams may pack midfield and teams may play on the floor against marshall to make him very easy to play against
-
Top ten finish beating all relegation fodder clubs home and away.
Drawn at home in all FA Cup round, knocked out by Stoke City in the 4th round in front of 5,999 people (1,500 away).
Drawn at home in the FA Trophy, knocked out by Prescot Cables in the 2nd round in front of 850 people (15 away).
-
15th. Out in the FA Cup away at a minnow
-
21st and hope we win the AGM cup. New signings don't look all that impressive, especially the manager's son.
-
20th,escape relegation JUST!!
-
bottom 4
-
I am quietly confident Alty will stay in this division this season. A couple of more decent signings and the top half of the table is well within reach.
-
Not convinced by any of our signings
We looking much weaker than 12 months ago, so I worried that we got a massive battle to say up this year.
20th at best
-
Down
-
1st,
Sinnott scoring a 91st minute winner at Braintree to send us up :)

Most sensible post on this thread

Hmm, a bit worried that switching off mentally after the Dartford game stalled our momentum.
Need some promising signings to restart it, not convinced by signings so far. And as Jimmy says the promoted sides are much stronger this season.
Also worried that O'Keefe may be a key player. (Not up to it on past record and what I've seen so far)
19th.
18th if Southport don't sort themselves out.

agree about O'Keefe doesn't look the part
Should have kept Williams, much better player
-
I always thought Williams got a rough deal here however I thought if we were prepared to get rid of a decent player it was a good thing because we were prepared to bring in even better players I hope that's the case
-
If we stay up again it's a good season ... awaits the your not driven enough posts ... Tough league that we can't afford to drop out of ... literally
-
I'd have to disagree that just staying up is a good season on what I saw it's not so tough however it's about opinions I also think it be harder this season so you may have a point
-
Nobody will be upset if we finish this season outside the relegation places. We obviously all want better than that and rightly so, but as a base level, staying up will be ok.
I think what we all crave is a proper cup run and a visit to Wembley in the Trophy, or at least a run to the latter stages. If North Ferriby can win it, we should be more than capable of doing so.

We missed a HUGE opportunity last season, that spineless loss at Bath will irritate me for years.

We missed a HUGE opportunity last season.
I agree, it was there for the taking.
-
I fear for us this season unless we manage to convince a creative and/or goal scoring midfielder to come to the club.....
Prediction: somewhere between top and bottom...
-
Mr Konk has got it spot on.
We need a midfielder who can pass a ball through a defence along the floor. If they are also prepared to shoot occasionally that would be a bonus.
The first two goals from Crewe demonstrated precisely what we are missing.
Like others I though Wilkinson then Williams could be the missing link but Mr Sinnot didn't seem to rate either of them highly enough to give them an extended run in the team.
-
I can't see us getting another midfielder as that would mean half the squad all play midfield that's not to say we don't need one
-
We're going to be bottom third of the table - upper end of that grouping so will be safe. I predict screw up after screw up in the cups and trophy.

Judging by a positive pre-season (and don't get me wrong, I've been as frustrated by him at times as anyone else), I'm hoping an actual prolonged run for Lawrie in his favoured central position could pay dividends.

nice positive post

Since the extra striker remains invisible, my secondary prediction of 15th is now in force. And having seen most of preseason even that is optimistic.

nice positive post
It's based on the view that we haven't got the resources for a dramatic up turn in quality, I do hope the new names are a step-up form the lads they replaced but I can't see us breaking through to compete above half way up the table. Given that, we will always have at least one eye on the league table, cups and trophies will take second place behind the league games. Very confident we'll stay up. That's the major positive.
-
Cup and trophies don't take second place as we play a full strength side but still get beat by poor sides however that's not just this side it's gone on to long I also don't think it's a negative post

I would say bottom third (so 17th or below), and screw ups in both cups (which suggests defeats to lower league clubs) is quite negative
My expectation for the season would be top half of the table, and decent run in all three cups.
I don't expect it to happen though!

oh well - I'm a glass half full chap myself. At the moment it's half full of Guinness...
and...
...now it's not.
-
since I have missed all the pre season games and know very little about the guys we have signed im changing my prediction to just out side the play offs , my glass isn't half full or half empty .. I've drank it all so its empty so a lil like my head ;D ;D , im going against the grain here but im going to be positive all season even if we do have issues
-
Not inspired yet - bottom 4 ⚽️😕
-
10th for me now, and with today's signing.
-
14th.
-
18th, we get close to LS target of 20 fewer conceded but nowhere near the 20 more goals (not creative enough)
-
If we concede 20 less goals we will finish much higher than 18th

really?

YES SYBIL REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BY THE WAY HOW IS BASIL DOING

Just one place out, but knew back in July we would be relegated, even before the massive injuries. Let's get back up ASAP with a decent manager and a decent squad, as much as finances allow.
-
Thank god I won't be watching that pile of sh*t again see ya
-
f**kin bottled it yet again sack them all
