Hope it is not a problem, but currently the turf must be rock hard?

Possibility we could play on Saturday instead?

Loss of camera revenue will be another blow if it happens.

If its off NYD I doubt the weather would change enough to make it possible to play satrday, especially organising police pies and stuff.

Tesco sell them, but only when we have attendances under 742

Or try what Terry Smith tried to do at Chester(among other daft things). That was he kept boiling a kettle then kept chucking the boiling water on the pitch. The ref unsurprising called the game off due to frozen pitch.

Any feasibility of getting some sort of heating under a cover?

I'm sure I've seen that done before.

Wigan tried it last year or the year before. The thing got too hot in one part and completely burnt the grass off the centre of the pitch (about 20 yards all gone and then fading out for another 30 or so). Apart from not wanting to ruin our lovely pitch, the cost would be huge.  :)

Anyone remember Alty playing at Drillfieild Road where it was so cold the pitch had a white frosty colour and some of the players started in boots but then changed to trainers?

Sorry to say -4C at the airport last night.... :(

Many moons ago, "when I were a lad" as they say, football and rugby pitches were covered for a few days before a game with straw. This was then raked off before kick off. I even helped get the straw off at ML once, when I was about ten years old.

Last season I watched Vauxhalls play Hyde on a frozen pitch so maybe the ref could be persuaded to play on it.
