Nor did I - just hope we don't live to regret it. I had been wondering what he had done wrong to find himself behind Lynch (M.) in the selection stakes ...

A great loss in my opinion. A good honest pro who always gives 100%. Don't know why he didn't feature more. Better player than Mark Lynch for starters, or earlier Adie Hawes. He's not been getting it on with Lee's missus or something has he ? We should have made far more use of him !

Good luck at Bower Fold Mark - we'll miss you.

Always seemed an odd signing to me, playing in a leaky Hyde defence last season.

The manager clearly didn't rate him from what he saw in games or in training.  Thats his perogative.

Sounds to me like Stalybridge have come in for him, the manager can't promise him first team football so he will take his chance with them.

It'll have to be one out to get one in so hopefully we'll see a replacement.

Matthew Flynn was outstanding there today I thought and Lynch didnt do much wrong although we know he is not a centre half.

I also believe that Nicky Clee could actually be a superb left back.  Today he was up and down the pitch doing some good wing play but also doing the defending well, tackling and tracking.  Certainly didnt look like a winger filling in.

Not given a fair crack IMO and we have alot worse defenders at the club. Good luck Mark.

Perhaps, in due course, the manager will enlighten us. :o :o :o

What about if Stalybridge have spoken to Mark Lees and said "we'd like to sign you".  And Mark Lees has said "I'd like to go and play for Stalybridge please"

Would that still be a stick to beat the manager with?

What, you mean he's taken this step down, in the hope that a bigger club will come in for him later ? He wouldn't be the first to go to a lesser club to put himself in the shop window.

Good player Lees, strange one for you guys to let him go.

Used to play for us at junior level.

Must have missed the bright light Vegas, or the 300 coffee and charity shops we have in town.

Must be hard for players to resist the urge to join us.

Good to luck to mark for the future, if releasing a utility player helps free up some funds to strenghten for the run in then good stuff.
