Think Parky needs to freshen things up via changing a few faces in the starting XI &/or changing formation in coming matches (as no relegation & safely midtable) so we can try new things before next season... eg maybe rest Hancock or give Bell a start, etc...
Obviously a good striker remains a priority for the summer... assume Parky will stick with 4,2,3,1 formation so would like to see (if fit)...
TT
Richman, Zouma, Hannigan, Hampson
Smith, Moult
Kosylo, Hancock, Colclough
Bell
Subs- Senior, Williams, Hardy, Ceesay, Piggott
However, reckon he'll go with...
TT
Senior, Mullarkey, Hannigan, Hampson
Smith, Moult
Hardy, Hancock, Colclough
Piggott
Subs- Richman, Williams, Ceesay, Peers, Bell
Score Prediction...
Heart says Alty win... Halifax 1-2 ALTY (Hancock, Bell)
Head says draw... Halifax 1-1 ALTY (Hancock)
COYR!

One of Hancock's biggest fans but I would drop him for a couple of games and play Hardy as No.10.
TT
Senior, Zouma, Hannigan, Hampson
Smith, Moult
Kosylo, Hardy, Colclough
Piggott

Score Prediction...
Heart says Alty win... Halifax 1-2 ALTY (Hancock, Bell)
Head says draw... Halifax 1-1 ALTY (Hancock)
COYR!
I think this game will be 3-2 😏
As for the HOME game on Saturday, I'm going 1-0 and loads of tension! 😉
-
Do'h...
Yeh... Alty 2-1 Halifax (Hancock, Bell)
Or head saying... Alty 1-1 Halifax (Hancock)...
Old age kicking in... :) :) :)
-
If Smith, Kosylo and Zouma are fit they all start. That's our best 11 for me and doesn't matter if its Bell or Piggott up top.
Doubtful all 3 will be available though.
-
Halifax fanbase were falling over themselves wanting Nyal Bell back.
So why the hell aren't we playing him?!
-
I would go with the first 11 suggested by Inter Alty but injuries may prevent this.
Yes, Bell has to be given an opportunity, or else he may as well return to Stockport.
-
Good to finally see an update on our absent players
-
Yep, the alternative Alty website the Alty Files has this...
BEFORE THE MATCH WITH FC HALIFAX TOWN
Altrincham entertain FC Halifax Town on Saturday in the first of seven home games in their final nine fixtures of the season.
Last time out, on Monday, Altrincham had eight players not in the matchday squad who had been enduring injury-related absences. They were:
Matty Kosylo: Matty has missed the last 4 fixtures. Initially he was out through a two-match suspension but has since missed the subsequent two matches having also picked up an injury.
Montel Gibson: Montel was injured in only his second game; he has since missed 6 matches.
Dan Mooney: Apart from 20 minutes as a used substitute against Aldershot Town, Dan has not featured in the last 14 fixtures.
Fisayo Adarabioyo: After eight starts, only one of which lasted for 90 minutes, Fisayo was injured and has since missed the last 22 league games
Andy White: Injury has sidelined Andy (right) for 8 of the last 9 games, with the exception being when he was named as a substitute, but was unused, against Aldershot.
Shaun Densmore: Shaun broke his arm against Bromley and has consequently missed the last 8 fixtures.
Yoan Zouma: Yoan has missed the last 4 games after picking up an injury in his fourth start.
Alistair Smith: Midfielder Alistair has missed 3 of the last 5 games.
Hopefully, one or more may return on Saturday against FC Halifax Town at the J. Davidson Stadium.

Does anyone know if Gibson has gone back to Grimsby after his month's loan? I would imagine so, given we've now got Bell.

He must have done seeing as the month is up and no news of an extension

After the great news about Parky & the Club's future vision last night, i'm really buzzing and looking forward to a bright future...
Due to this added 'feel good' factor i'm now definitely going with an Alty win today... maybe 2-1 (Hancock, Piggott/Bell)...
Roll on 3pm... can't wait for today's match... COYR!

Halifax fanbase were falling over themselves wanting Nyal Bell back.
So why the hell aren't we playing him?!
I think the current management team of whoever Bell plays for are better qualified to select a player, with all their current knowledge of a player’s performance in training, than a collection of unqualified individuals from a previous club’s forum with only historic performances to draw on.

Freezing in Timperley and it’s started snowing. Spring has sprung!

The snow's not sticking, but we could have yet another wet playing surface to cope with. Met Office reckons sunshine and cloud now (it's grey and sleeting!) and rain after 2pm.
-
I'm sure the pitch will be fine today, although its 9.33am by the ground and snowing. Not rained much in preceding week here.
We normally do well against better opposition, lets hope it continues today.

What's the point of the forum if we're not allowed to discuss football ideas?

Confirmed Team News...
TT
Senior
Mullarkey
Hannigan
Ogle
Williams
Moult
Ceesay
Hancock
Colclough

Still no Smith or Kosylo... no Hampson... Gould on bench... as is Bell again... Ceesay in for Hardy who also drops to bench...
Wonder if missing players are injured, dropped, or just rested? Oh well, we go with this team; so let's get behind em!

Agreed Seth. Nobody speaks more tosh than me. 🙄
-
I wonder if Gould is on bench because TT has picked up an injury ? I sincerely hope not !
-
If I'm being honest, I'm not optimistic with that team. I would be ecstatic to be wrong though.
-
I don't think the management should be too concerned at our failure to convert chances. In that woeful 45 minutes we barely created any chances. There were long periods when it was hard to tell which side were playing towards the Golf Road end. At one point we had a free kick at half way, and it ended up with TT without a Halifax player touching it ! We've been second best by quite some way and I don't see the management turning water into wine at HT. Prediction 0-3.
-
I think the unending criticism of the surface by the commentary team is both unfair to the ground staff and, to be honest, erroneous.
Halifax seem to be having significantly fewer problems with it than we are.
-
The constant criticism of the playing surface is embarrassing and cringeworthy.
-
A look of a pre season friendly , plus a few who wouln't get in to most conf north starting line ups .Aren't most of them on 2 years deals ?
-

Halifax are used to playing on a midden. The pitch is way short of its best. It actually doesn't matter who plays up front - it might as well be Foz for all the service he'd receive. Not many emerged from that without being deserving of criticism.
-
That was a thoroughly abject performance, the worst I've seen this season by some considerable distance.
I feared the worst when I saw the team sheet. Earlier in the season, we were struggling for goals even with the creativity of Kysolo and Smith, now without them, we don't actually look like fashioning out even a goalscoring opportunity.
Ogle did well enough to earn a contract (should he be available). As for the rest...I just hope there aren't too many 2-year contracts.
Moult and Williams together DOES NOT WORK. The tempo is much much much too slow.
Piggott and Ceesay are NOT going to score goals at this level against these sorts of defenders - neither are good enough to either hold the line, or put the ball in the net.
Hardy looks ok. Why he was dropped I'll never know. Hanks is the only lad who can score, why bring him off? These are the questions I'd love to put to Phil.
-
I have to say with more endeavour they could have done better there.
Hopefully the end of Piggot
Both full backs poor.
Colclough the only one that looked likely out of all of them.
Awful from Williams.
Pitch not to blame both teams played on it and once they scored that was it.
Lot of work to be done in close season and it has to be better than previous pre seasons.

Some very salient points there.
What an utter non-event that game was. I've had more excitement creosoting the fence.
Pedestrian build-up and a miniscule threat in attack with the exception of Colclough.
Hancock was below par and Piggott was anonymous (and he has now exceeded 500 minutes without scoring a goal).
Our solitary goal in our last three matches has been that Colclough fluke at Maidenhead. That says it all.
-
Another poor game... i would like the club to update fans on injuries... we obviously know Adarbioyo has been out most of the season and White out rest of season... plus assume Gibson loan not renewed due to injury, but where are the following players who don't even make the bench ie Hampson, Dens, Sutton, Zouma, Smith, Mooney, Kosylo... some of these would definitely improve our starting XI...
As for the game... thought 1st half quite even with only one real chance each - ours towards bar, their's a goal after our defenders stood off and let their player shift the ball onto his left foot to bury it into corner... 2nd half saw more chances for both teams - us via Colclough, Hancock, Ceesay, etc... though again no goals scored - our problem all season...
Didn't like fact we abandoned our usual passing game and getting crosses in from wing areas for a lot of the game and resorted to punting it forward which was stupid with 6ft 7inch keeper in goal... thought Bell did better than Piggott who did nothing bar gain more minutes for match fitness & Hardy adding something little extra when he came on...
Anyway, another defeat & poor performance... must improve... we still have faith in Parky taking us forward but again i ask the Club PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE update us on the injury news... roll on next weekend when we go again... COYR!
-
A lot of different perceptions on this game, and we can all agree it was one to forget.
For me, Bell and Hardy must start the next game as 9 and 10 respectively, and hopefully we will see Smith and Kosylo back ASAP.
-
Poor fodder.
Hardy has to start next game, as for who plays up front don't think it will matter 1 jot.
-
Maybe we should simply play with no striker at all... as feels like we have been doing this already all season... :(
Scotland 2010 played 4-6-0 formation...
Spain 2012 played 4-6-0 formation...
And City occasionally last 12mths no strikers...
Obviously City & Spain more successfully...
That said, and on a more serious note, i think Bell needs to be given a start up front and we MUST find a decent striker in the summer to solve our inability in front of goal...

Bell has to start next time out, for his sake and for Piggott's. I like Piggott but his performances are deteriorating and he needs to be taken out of the starting line-up for now.
I also think PP would do well to talk more openly to the fans about injuries and selection issues such as the reason why Bell has yet to start despite being our only proven goalscorer at this level. He may have his reasons for not doing so but he's creating problems with the fans that are unnecessary.

I agree with this Foz has a track record of collecting and distributing wayward footballs
