Did Ken McKenna ever play in the NPL?

As I said before the Workington game, there aren't any good teams at this level and all have flaws so entirely expected that teams can lose 2-5 one week and win 6-0 the next.

It's a poor level, slow and not technically adept so anything can happen

I hate to break it to you but the level of football is markedly lower than last year and all the players and teams are flawed (granted this applies to an extent to us too). There aren't any tough assignments at this level (regardless of what result we come back with tonight. Trust me.

Surely that is all relative and there are many teams at this level that would totally disagree with that analysis. We are where we are because we deserve to be and whatever you may think none of it is going to be a cakewalk, unfortunately.

Try reading it again...

The teams and players aren't good enough to make anywhere in this league ;including Moss Lane) a tough ask

Steve, if we got relegated again we'd probably win even more games.

I'm told only paying fans got into the stadium and upto £1000 taken at the bar and security in place to keep an eye on things,.. cant see what the fuss is about ???

With all due respect Ian, you couldn't see why some fans were unhappy they could no longer see parts of the pitch after a hall was built in a football ground so I wouldn't expect you to be able to see what the problem is today.

In fairness, I won't comment further other than to say, actually forget it, I just won't comment further

Good interview, was speaking with his dad on Tuesday night, he said we have not seen the best of Josh yet. Looking forward to seeing much more from him.

I always find you can rely on players dads to give supporters of their sons club a realistic and honest appraisal of their offsprings' footballing ability.

Only a few replies here, not much attention gained.

Must be very disappointing for you.

The ball seemed to end at Taylor's feet from Whitby attacks quite a lot in the last ten minutes

Tuesday clearly is a must win

And we're miles away from where we need to be - no plan b, and too many soft arse players who aren't good enough

Bored of hearing about his achievements at Nantwich - this is Altrincham and it's far from good enough

A pertinent point. Losing in the evo stik play off final and a run to run fa cup 4th qualifying rd and the fa trophy first rd could constitute a great season for Nantwich. It would actually be the worst in Altrincham's history. PP needs to get his head around that sharpish

Well, I hold no grudge with PP. The fact is that he is an evo stik league manager with evo stik league players (largely). Therefore although his budget will be favourable in itself it won't guarantee anything other than evo stik league results frankly. But we do need something to give us confidence going forward, we cannot just believe for the sake of it or stick with him for the sake of it.

What is far more pertinent is that if we don't start winning this week we'll be 9/10 pays adrift of title rifles and that margin becomes problematic

I don't think it is, Morpeth played colwyn Bay in this round last year in their run to playing us. Also winsford played Whitby and skelmersdale played dunston UTS. Sunderland are what used to be Ryehope CA on closer inspection

I was going to question that.

We played Ryhope CA in the first round of our triumphant FA Trophy run in 1986.

15m 29s in that league game Steve

And 1hr 39m 04s for you masochists wanting to watch the trophy semi final first leg. Although worth watching for Rowlo's header after five mins I suppose as it was the most convinced (and last time) I thought I'd be going back to Wembley
