Barnet (H) Match Thread
« on: January 03, 2024, 02:14:45 PM »

Hopefully not a P-P, got a couple of days for the pitch to dry out after today.

Working on the basis that both Justin Amaluzor and Alex Newby are available - if not, we might need to look at the prospect of bringing Dan Mooney in from the start (or the lesser-spotted Justin Donawa):

                     Ross

Banks  Cooper  Baines  Brockbank

         Osborne     Marriott

  Amaluzor  Conn-Clarke  Newby

                     Linney

Would gladly accept a point now to keep things ticking along for the time being.

Yep, above team would be good. I hate watching us play Barnet and tbh would take a draw right now.

I suppose it's too much to hope for a repeat scoreline of the game in February 1980 when we did them 7-0......

I wonder what odds you might get for that now?

What's the weather situation in Alty? Pretty poor down here. Hope the match isn't in danger of being postponed bearing in mind the pitch has had a good soaking lately?

There was a touch of rain overnight but it's been dry today/yesterday, and the sun is set to shine on it all morning all the way up to kick off.

Shouldn't be in danger.

No worries SR! Should be a nice (albeit chilly) afternoon.

Justin Amaluzor is visible in the training photos on the club's Instagram, so assume he's over his illness too.

Yeah, should be fine I’d say. After the deluge earlier in the week, barely a drop of rain since Weds now locally. I’m sure a few have seen the photos of the pitch (that sort of trench in front of the main stand) it’s not going to be conducive to the style of football both us & Barnet like to play. Will need a fair bit of remedial work in the summer.
