Don’t need to give them too much respect, I would play a back 4.

Go toe to toe. Linney gives us more up top than the other strikers, he forces mistakes and is generally just more of a nuisance for defenders.

                       Ross

Banks     Cooper     Baines     E.Jones

             Marriott    Osborne

Amaluzor        CCC       Newby

                    Linney

Subs : Dackers, Kossy, Donawa, J.Jones & Wilson

Would like to see Linney up top and give Donawa a game, either RB or on the wing.
Front 4 of Amaluzor,  Donawa, CCC and Linney would be rapid.

That was a top performance from all 11.
Great tempo from the off.
Well done boys.

I called for a change up top, but it was a bad call on that performance by Sithole.

We need to somehow speed up Linney's return to match fitness. He is our main man and we need him now. Hopefully he is putting extra sessions in.

That was a really poor performance, first 25 mins was embarrassing.

Having wingers that cut in makes the edge of the box congested. Amaluzor would be better on the left, take people on the outside, would open up the middle. We do all these fancy edge of the box passing, but it hardly ever penetrates defences. We run out of ideas and lose the ball.

We really need players down the wings, putting balls across the face of the goal, with more than one player in the 6 yard box.CCC was often in a wide position, picking up the ball, as we didn't have any ideas. His penalty technique is now known, no idea why it took him so long to react to the save.

Need to start Donawa at RB. Baines and Cooper were so slow at everything tonight. Worst game I have seen Ethan have, we looked tired and low in confidence.

Our set pieces all night were crap, like they so often are. Rochdale were a small team, should have been balls into the box and attacked.

Their 18 year old from Fleetwood was very good.

Would like to.see James Jomes ( for Cooper ) Linney and Donawa start on Sat.

I would be surprised if Justin Donawa is available, given that Bermuda have another crucial game tomorrow evening.

The only other alternative (in my opinion) to your own lineup is bringing James Jones into the back line, asking Lewis Banks to push further forward, start with Linney and Newby leading the line and dropping Justin Amaluzor to the bench to give them something to worry about for the last half hour.

I do think Linney and Newby could make a good footballing partnership (alongside CCC) - they're both very good with the ball at their feet, and in this particular fixture Newby won't need any encouragement given he was released by Rochdale the summer before last.

Didn't realise that Donawa had another game.

Banks RB then.

Donawa  Cooper  Baines Jones

            Osbourne  Marriott

Newby           CCC       Amaluzor

                      Linney

Need more pace and threat up top.

Personally,  and if available, still feel Donawa should be our right back. Defends equally to Banks, but attacks much better.

Amaluzor on his more natural side.

Need to be positive, have full-backs overlapping and get numbers into the box.

There is no reason why we can't take all 3 points. Just need to be more brave than Saturday.

How on earth have we contrived to lose that game?!

Both their goals arose from us giving away possession on the fringe of their penalty area.

We were pedestrian for much of the first half and guilty of overelaborating around their penalty area.

However, we dominated the second half and penned them back for long periods.

Newby, Angus and Amaluzor were all underwhelming, and I still remain unconvinced by Banks.

Conn-Clarke certainly wowed the rather annoying commentators on the streaming.

Hugely frustrating.

Donawa is equally as good at defending as Banks, but much better at attacking. Donawa should be our RB.
Our fullbacks didn't get forward at all today.

How many more games are we going to give Angus?
Won the pen but he was anonymous and has been for weeks.
Taking Amaluzor off and keeping Angus on the pitch was ridiculous.
We needed pace, Amaluzor and Sithole would have given us that.
Banks wasn't great either. It looked like his poor ball that gave them the ball for their 2nd.
Need to get more players into the box. Neither full-back overlapped, which meant too much passing around the edge of the box.
CCC was quality today, the rest average or poor.

       Osbourne   Marriott

   Newby Con-Clarke  Amaluzor

               Sithole

Sithole over Angus for me. Deserves a chance.

Linney given another 30 bu to start against Rochdale.

If in a decent winning position, then sub Marriott for Wilson later on.

Also maybe pull a CB for Jones later one.

Wouldn't be starting wingbacks, need to get at them.

A big win, well done lads.
Worried when we decided to go 5 at the back, looked shaky.
Luckily, we got the second.
Defo think Amaluzor causes more issues down the left. He was putting some decent crosses in and has the pace to get into the box.
Gutted for Newby, he was so good second half, before his injury.
Sithole or Linney to start next game. Angus wasn't great again.
The ball Osborne did to CCC for our second was quality. Osborne is completely a different player, fair play to the lad.
Ross, best keeper since Coburn, by some distance.
Onwards and upwards.

Hopefully we’ll see Linney back out there tomorrow!
Alty 3 Southend 1

This is defo our best 11, apart from Banks. Surely, Marriott over Banks in CM?
Think he will start Linney on the bench, but need him to have decent amount of mins.

I think if we play wing backs we need two attacking wide players in the 3, like we did against Gateshead.

We shouldn't be giving them so much respect. I would go with pace and be direct against all the big teams, we were excellent in that second half against Chesterfield.

                               Ross

Donawa        Cooper   Baines     E.Jones

                  Marriott   Osborne

Amaluzor           CCC             Newby

                            Sithole

Full of pace with Donawa, Amaluzor and Sithole. Too many games when we only have Amaluzor for pace.

We can do them on counter attacks. Especially, without Hogan.

If we went wingbacks, then.....

                        Ross

            J.Jones  Cooper Baines

Donawa    Osborne  Marriott    E.Jones

             Amaluzor  CCC  Newby

I think that describing Kiddy as average is a huge understatement. They are relegation fodder and quite how we haven't won that I've no idea. It's not working out for Angus and I genuinely believe that he's more of an impact sub than a starter. Either start Sithole or get in that loan market and bring in a number 9 until Regan is fit.

Agreed. Angus is better off the bench.
