I'll never pretend to like you but wanted you there in case we ever dropped a division. You never like you're rivals being above you but never want them to drop too far as it makes real rivalry even more of a memory.

You guys deserved to go down with us (Farsley) because of what's happened over the past few seasons. You've got a commendably passionate forum occupied by a large set of commendably passionate fans, but for you guys to survive this season would have been highly unjust. You may still do survive if somebody goes bust, but I hope that doesn't happen.
They should change the rules so teams can't stay up on a technicality two seasons running. There's a chance you guys might stay up having been relegated three times where as Droylsden, Stafford, and Farsley go down having been relegated only once.

In fairness we did finish above you which does give us first dibs at the AGM.
I appreciate we have been very lucky, but if other clubs are run outside of the rules then we cannot be responsible for the action taken against them. I am sure all clubs would not be unhappy to benefit from the mismanagement of others.

Farsley fan we don't enjoy staying up on technicalities but to be really honest this league is so full of corruption that it is done for us. Think about it, if it was a level playing field each season we would be a regular mid table side.

Never said anything about going out of business, both Scarboro & Boston were simple relegated (though the former sadly went out of business through no fault of anyone but themselves). I, too, don;t want to see clubs going out of business, but I also would not like to be owed money by a club only to receive, for instance, 2.5pence out of every pound owed.

Yeah, perhaps those muckspreading Vics name even on the national forum and on the Conf North forum should contain their envy next season- unless of course they`ve managed not to direct their vitriol at the Conference itself- in which case the Old Pals Act could still be on.
I remember Jezza comin on the Vics site after we got our reprieve telling us that Alty would be too proud to accept staying up by default (& by the way we got demoted on non-playing grounds a year or two later) and that we should be embarrassed to accept the chance of stayin up.
Apols to the decent Robins for draggin all this up but I`d advise you to try and keep the few websters in your fold from embittering relations with rival clubs.
And cheer up - tis only togger.

I think the rules for going into admin should be changed to align the penalty with the scale of financial overspending on players you can't afford. So if you agree a CVA to pay 80p in th epound you keep 80% of your points for the season. If you have spent £2m you don't have and can afford just £50k then you keep just 2.5% of the points you've won!
Frankly if you gave me £2m to spend I could earn more than 10 points with it!

Thanks for the real and proper sentiments Macc fan, real fans understand how these things feel, gloating about things like this helps no one and can only bite back, one day we will play each other again, hopefully soon in a decent league or competition.

each to their own mate. to me alty are our main rivals, the only team i detest (my dad told me too!). Because of this i want them round about where we are. County are nothing, if you're too young to remember (in which case fair enough) or really drunk (again, fair enough)you dont realise what truly great rivalry we have against these boys.

I think Tinno has played his last season at BSP level, I'll never slag any of our players who try and genuinely believe, we have had a few before. Tinno wasn't one of those to me, Keith Russell anyone.

No not bad the guy is a giant but sadly this league has become so much more competitive in the last few seasons that it isn't a place a player can see out his last few years anymore.

instead of 95-06 for us you should read 95-00. since then we have just done enough with the odd signing like richie barker, rickie lambert, jon parkin making us just better than the norm. all other years we've just done ok no better!

Serious question. Weren't Macc part-time when they won the Conference? If so the division has certainly changed out of all recognition since those days.

yes mate,only went full time after promotion. I'm sure some players (Chris Byrne, John Askey etc) were on full time wages but officially you're correct. Massive difference to nowadays and I think they were better than some of the Sh1te on show nowadays but thats just the way things go unfortunately.

occasional rivalry comes and goes The Volunteer. Real rivalry stays, I always look out for you lot,as I know Northwich aren't a proper football team you know neither are Stockport County. You are the only club i dislike (because of rivalry), yet know some fans in Weymouth right now who I am genuinely gutted for!

Why is it unjust to survive due to having a strong buisness plan ethic alongside running a family orientated club?
If you are in retail and you dont make enough money to cover the rent, wages and power etc your buisness closes its as simple as that.
Clubs who do not run there finances correctly should be closed. The rule of a 10 point deduction is fundementaly flawed. In my eyes it should be automatic relegation at the very least.
PS I am devestated that we have been relegated. Long live the Alty.

For me there is no argument.
Halifax got more points than up by losing £30,000 a month, money they did not have.
If we had spent another £30,000 a month we would have had more points.
If you can do it and get away with it, the gamble was worth it (VICS)
If you do it and it backfires on you, thats life.

Not sure why macc are so happy....that must mean they still see us as major rivals? I guess just as all the football league (apart from Accy) look down at the joke club they feel some psychological need to look down on someone themselves????? fulltime and their gates aren't even double ours in the football league???
I find it bizarre Farsley are upset...the rules are simple and clear.....finish 4th bottom and you have hope of a reprieve.
I'm sorry for Stafford and Droylsden, I'm pleased for Vics they managed to get out of it.
Halifax's 'penalty' for buying points with money they did not have was a relegation scrap...is that enough? The rule needs changing..maybe put and keep the cluib onto zero points and they can't earn any more until they have paid the cva in full?
But I'm f*cking chuffed to bits Farsley are out....I hate these progressive clubs who claim to have crowds growing year on year and get promoted with a ground hardly fit for East Cheshire League and then they give it the old "we're going full time on gates of 500".
And when Vics did finally get kicked out they regained their honour by coming back the hard way and were congratulated by Alty fans..........my real gripe with Vics was that you could see their financial problems looming but they said no problem at vics we're heading for the fooball league (this was when telford saved them) yet their ground was not going to be finished clearly and money had run out....they were very lucky to actually complete the next season's fixtures......clearly at the time, telford were a sounder financial bet than Northwich and they knew it.
That's all in the past now but at least Alty fans show some embarassment at the reprieves and some do say they don't want one so at least we have morals at Alty....but maybe that's our problem?

Just to play out this argument one more time... we wouldn't be in the bottom four if other teams above us played by the rules and didn't spend beyond their means only to shaft their creditors later in the season.
