Stewarding at recent Telford game and Staylbridge
« on: October 26, 2016, 02:21:48 PM »

Midway through second half a plastic bottle was thrown in the direction of the Telford goalkeeper from a group of young fans behind the goals. What happened was seen by a steward who told all of these lads to get behind the barrier on the terraces. It seemed to have been left at that but then a steward who I took to be a chief one went and talked to the group, one of whom was taken to one side, talked to and details taken. Whether or not the referee had seen the incident or not I thought that the next action would have to ask the person to leave the ground but he was left to stay and watch the game. Three or four stewards were eventually involved in the incident but it looked to me as though really knew what should have been done.
At the  home game agains Stockport  a smoke bomb was thrown from the Stockport end and at Staylbridge a red smoke bomb was thrown from the Altrincham end.

Have all three incidents been reported and if so what action should have been taken. Interesting to know the answer.

Barry r hope this answers your question at Stalybridge the referee reported flare incident to fa in his report both clubs to report findings to fa. Has for lad who through bottle on to pitch his details were taken referee said he was nit reporting it has he was happy how incident was handled at the time if the stewards had escorted him out you might have noticed all exit gates were opened as it was near the end of the game so he could have come back in to the ground. At any of these so it was decided to keep an eye on him were he was . As for the Stockport incidents the referee did report these incidents to fa hope this goes someways to answering you

Wouldn't have happened if those kids were in the home and the travelling supporters were in the away end.

Strange thing to say. It happened in the blink of an eye. The miscreant was told by adults around him that "you can't do that lad" but he had already done it.
If the crowd had been segregated his frustration could still have led to him chucking something on the pitch.

Steady up Phil.... The Toss  is the highlight of my Saturday afternoon just lately, at least we do have a chance of winning that part.   ;)

Message for Alty TV... Can we please have the toss up as part of the highlights package   :D
