« on: February 14, 2008, 04:39:05 PM »

picture on the main site got me thinking back to my childhood (long time)
my dad taught me you had have your eyes open when you head the ball. to stop me closing my eyes he hung a casey by the laces from the washing line and made me stand there heading the ball until i did with my eyes open.

Was i abused and is it the possible root of all my problems can i sue him

Primary School was a real breeding ground for the future development of serial killers, rapists etc, how cruel are 10 year olds?

Fortunately, I once scored with a header at that age, bit flukely as it hurt my nose and eye socket but it made me a cult hero for at least a week. Lymm Statham it was against, we all hated them.................I now have no recall at all why?

I was / still am (despite playing in goals) a header when possible, like instead of catching and throwing a shot, head it back out ot our right winger, works a treat ;D

Usa Alty, time has dimmed your memory. Moorlands kit was green and white quarters, and the change kit was amber and black stripes. Perhaps it got changed after I left?

That's nothing gazelle..you were lucky...my dad would come home from the pub pissed at midnight, drag me out of bed, hang me upside down on the washing line and then smash a leather casey soaked in water against my forehead until I kept my eyes open and would then leave me there all night. You had it easy mate.

SW, there is no doubt time has dimmed my memory but now you come to mention it the green and black was a brand new kit my last year, so you are right it must have changed.   I remember how keen the games teacher (Mr Cottis?) was to keep an eye on every new shirt after games!!
