I had a conversation with Jamie a while back where I mooted that the game that ended up being quite costly that season but has always slipped under the radar was the 0-0 draw at home to Stafford in late December. We'd just started really winning games at that point (Gary Anderson and to a lesser extent Tommy Miller's influence was starting to be felt) and I get the impression (was on holdiay) that it was just natural that you can't win them all.
Which we then basically did for about 3 months. For me, whereas the Fisher game was a damage limitation exercise against an Alty team who had clearly been marked out as a danger, that 0-0 v Stafford looks rather odd in the midst of a spell where we hammered in 3,4,5,6, even 9 goals at will in games!!
Whilst we slagged off last season's rabble for not winning or even scoring (or having a shot on target) against the bottom 2 sides (until the 2nd half v Eastbourne) quite how that 90/91 side that scored about 100 goals in all comps managed to draw 0-0 twice with a Fisher side that conceded nearly 100 is one of the GMVC's all time strange anomalies
