It's not exactly 'Woodman out' but with their winless 2024 continuing, there's quite a bit of grumbling going on on the Bromley forum. I thought this post illustrated just how different the atmosphere is down there compared to the buzz at the J Davidson.
Man management I would suggest is lacking.
I've sat in enough changing rooms (in three different countries) to know what makes a group tick.
There will be some that have grafted all season, just to see a new bunch rock up and take your shirt without having to earn it.
Winning sides need a bond, a bond that's forged on respect. I truly feel our changing room will suffer due to the far too many ins and outs. I make it about 36 players so far this season?
What's wrong with building a tight squad pre season of 20 odd solid fellas that can grow together and achieve?
All's not lost. Might seem like a over reaction to some but alarm bells are ringing in my ear oles.
After the big fanfare this week and us swinging our dicks and checkbook about it was just another textbook anti climax.
Footnote:
Kevin Philips was a credit to Pool today, smiled throughout and kept dignified in victory.
Our manager on the other hand let off numerous C Bombs to the fourth official, with his lapdogs looking on clueless.....

Long may the unrest last and hopefully manifest itself throughout the club. In addition to ourselves having an impressive run in, we need one or two of the clubs above us to stutter in their remaining programme for us to upgrade our playoff place to a top three finish.

Just the one would do us! 😉 🤞

With no injuries, 2nd is achievable.

Like you said all credit to Matt, but 2nd and 3rd is down to having Ross back
-
Bear in mind though, that Matt kept a clean sheet against a top 5 side last weekend. Eastleigh are no mugs either.
-
Matt is a very good keeper and a dependable stand in but Ethan has been fantastic for us and undoubtedly gives the defence a good deal of confidence when he's between the sticks behind them.
-
I've been pleasantly surprised at how well Matt has stepped into Ethan's shoes. I haven't detected any hesitation in our back line and in both of the last two games he's pulled off saves when called upon. Losing Ethan during such a vital run in is definitely a blow but Matt is no park player and looks every bit a first team goalkeeper. Even the Solihull commentator kept referring to him as "Altrincham's number 1".
-
There'll only ever be one "Altrinchams number one".
There's a song about it actually! 😉
PS. In the song, he's actually England's Number One!

Joe Paladino? ;)

We'd have been better off with Elton John...

I'm sure Oldham will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season, given the resources they have available to them.
The other team it might be worth keeping an eye on is Hartlepool under Kevin Phillips - they're quite far back at the moment but it'll be interesting to see if they can put a run together.

Oldham, Rochdale and Halifax seem to be doing their best to beat themselves, form is key and any gap under 6 points is easily clawed back over March and April.

Oldham are second to Chesterfield in the form table. The only teams in Playoff spots that are also in the same place in the form table are us and Aldershot.
The rest of the playoff spots are held by teams on the slide at the moment.
If it's not us vs Oldham at some point in the playoffs I'll be surprised.

Just his cash would do.
