Just come back from warrington town match (local side) v's Cammel Liard we lost one nil but had a long conversation with my hero KEN MCKENNA. At the moment he is scouting for alty and helping Lairds with promotion into Unibond prem. Asked him is he would like to take over at alty in the close season. He confirmed and i quote "that he would be delighted to take over alty and see it as the best challenge of his managerial career", he would not say much more due to the fact he is scouting for us and does not want to 'rock the boat' but he appeared to be very enthusiastic about potenially taking over in the summer  .

Anyway hope this is a bit of sunshine on the alty horizon if we do go down.

Yes sorry i think its a certainty, we would be betta off in the conference north, its too hard this league for us to compete nowadays. Time to rebuild in the north and put some youth in the team, need to snap up all those excellent young player  in the north uni prem etc. Watched a few good players; playing for lairds tonight who will cut it for alty

I don't believe GG wants to be in the BSN over the BSP, but he will have said that which is politically appeasing in the past to see the best in a bad situation.

I think he prefers it and the fact that he would rather have money in the bank than spend it to keep us up is all the proof you need.

Maybe Geoff believes the club should create it's own revenue rather than spend money it hasn't got. Maybe he feels that funding the team coach travel is a significant contribution in it's own right. It's funny how we are too good for the BSN yet have (probably) been relelgated from the Conference three years on the run. There's some very short memories around here. It's not that long since the crown debt that threatened to shut down the club was cleared. The club was never ready financially for a promotion no one ever expected so soon. Trips to Oxford, Cambridge, Exeter and Torquay don't automatically and magically fund full-time Conference level wages. Unless someone steps in with a bag of gold then the BSN is Altrincham's natural level. Get used to it.
