Seriously though, we don't need a winter break....just a bit of common sense from the league.
Play a few more Tuesday games at the start of the season and leave a couple of Saturdays free later on to cope
with the fixture pile up which happens every year.

That's a very good answer to the problem.  Sadly far too good for the powers that be to adopt

This is why we need to get back into the Conf National if only to get directly into the FA Cup 4th Q round & thus freeing up more Saturday's for league matches.

& if we don't get back in the National division soon, then all FA Cup qualifying rounds should be made to finish at the 1st time of asking, no replays until at least the 4th Q Round.

It was commented on by some people back in July when the fixtures came out that the lack of early season midweek fixtures would come back to haunt some clubs and that has turned out to be the case. This needs looking at for next season.

Can we discuss something more sensible on the forum please, we have this every year and it is getting boring now   #sniggers.

I have no recall of ever discussing a dart board in the Noel White suite before.   ;D

Table Football would be more appropriate....and useful for deciding the result of rained off matches.   ;D

3G pitches and video technology installed for the 2015/216 season please.

Money to be taken from sky sports by direct debit at a variable rate...

I voted for the roof....then realised it would probably have blown off last week. I'm reluctantly coming round to 3G pitches....

The only options are start the season at the start of July and play lets of games in the first two months of the season or think seriously about installing 3G pitches, not a massive fan, but like anything you'd get used to it

Some good suggestions all round.

I would start the season earlier, do as many midweek fixtures as possible early on, axe replays in the FA Cup qualifiers, and axe the CSC altogether.

An actual fixed break period is unworkable because you can't legislate for when exactly the bad weather will strike.  You could have playable pitches during the break and unplayable ones before and after it.  Then you have more chaos.

I can't see playing on heavy pitches a problem.
Never was a problem years ago.
We are getting far too soft these days.

I have to be honest I am fuming with this thread

We are now actually started to rationally discuss options to avoid this happening again

The whole winter break debacle was meant to be for teasing purposes only

I am so incensed I am off to start a where is chris senior thread
