Deeply upset by this.

I have known Rene since I was a little lad, you wouldn't meet a harder working lady and a dedicated Alty fan.

Gutted for Gary and Ian.

God bless you Rene, a lovely lady xx

I can only echo the sentiments expressed by Ecky.

Desperately sad news about a genuinely kind and generous lady who was a devoted supporter of the Robins.

My sincere condolences to both Ian and Gary.

I've known Rene during my forty years of watching the Robins and, from various conversations that I've had with her, I know that she has followed Alty's fortunes since the 1960s.

It's going to be very odd next season to be there at the back of the Main Stand and not see her sitting in the row in front of us.

If someone could post any details regarding her funeral, I'd be most obliged.

Gary was always very proud of the fact she brought him to his first Alty game when he was about 3 months old and he has been going ever since.

So very sad...

Ecky,

I recollect Rene bringing a very young Gary to home matches all those years ago......and nowadays I see him bringing his own son to Moss Lane.

She will be sorely missed next season.

RIP Rene, like Cult and VoD I enjoyed sitting near you and Gary and the main stand banter, you were clearly Alty to the very core. A sad loss.

Gary (and Ian) I pass you my best wishes mate.

Wayne,

Many thanks for all your work in organising those splendid red and white flowers spelling out ALTY at Rene's funeral yesterday.

A fitting tribute to a lovely lady.

I hope that the plan to add a plaque commemorating her on the Wall Of Memories at Moss Lane goes ahead, as she truly deserves to be on there.
