Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Popside standing
« on: August 22, 2022, 10:33:06 AM »
The club needs toilet facilities on the family stand/main stand side. Stewards often prevent fans in these parts from using toilets in the away end for obvious reasons, and we cannot use those in the business/sponsors lounge. This means you have to cross through the main stand over to the other side of the CSH. The only place to cross the main stand is the row behind the directors seats as the aisle is wide enough. After my hip operation I could not climb the main stand steps easily and I struggled to get through. It was a worry for me during games but the club could not resolve it and I often had to beg the stewards to let me use the away end. I am ok now because I am more mobile and like to stand in front of the CSH, but can appreciate some of the difficulties for those in the family stand. We need toilets accessible everywhere as it could hamper our chances of EFL football in the long run. Worries me because at some stage I will have the other hip replaced, hope it's done during the close season!
agreed and we need some in the fan zone as well

I think there was lots of frustration on the terraces with the constantly playing backwards to keep the ball, we seamed to be a real threat when we pushed and opened up.

I'm ok for us to loose the ball when being proactive, win the ball back and go again.

Ryan had a quiet game by his standards, yet still a real threat every time he got the ball.

Early days, and in all honesty we are far far better than Yeovil, I guess that's why we're frustrated.

Push on boys.
good observations . It baffled me why we put such a young keeper under unnescary pressure in the first half. And coco didn't get enough service at times

In response to queries on this issue I have requested screen shots of the relevant posts which will be shared on receipt

Did those images ever emerge?

I really don't see why the culprit should remain unidentified.

I know that Mee makes a hash of things for Maidenhead's opening goal but what on earth was that bizarre backpass all about?

what a ridiculous back pass. Put the keeper in a totally unnecessary situation

Being a full time setup has to include a professional setup off the field, paying staff rather than expecting volunteers to do it should have been part of the costings of the full time model.

Employing people will get more people wanting to work for the club thus providing a better service.
very fair point as well . More customers equals more staff required or better operational execution

I say it every week but the only way that service in the CSH is going to improve is if they start prepouring pints... yes it's not ideal but I don't even bother trying to get served at the bar anymore
or put more staff on . Or a bit of both . Pre ordering makes total sense by the way ala George and Jenny

I use a Kindle Fire and have been unable to keep a connection to the new radio service. I tried yesterday and it dropped out time and again. Gave up and used the bbc.I

I'll pop out next week for a Pink Final😀
the pink final takes me back . 20p I recall and you could open the door and take as many as you wanted ..😆😉

Is that not shoplifting?
more paper lifting I think 😂 we used to catch customers doing it all the time

I started go to Alty again after being a fairly irregular watcher in the 70s/80s for the 94/95 season and got hooked. Handy for home, not expensive to get in, lots of local away games, lots midweek too, relaxed atmosphere, stand where you want, i could go on. That's all gone now. I doubt I'll go to an away game this season and at £19 I don't think I'll go to every home game, especially if the team go on a losing run. I want entertainment, and if I ain't getting entertained I'm not paying for torture. I barely went in the recent relegation seasons, but I went to a lot in the Evostik and following NLN seasons. Why? Because it was fun, entertaining, relaxed (stand where you want  (pretty much)), bring your own sandwiches, lots of away games not too far away, and not too much to get in.

So in a nutshell I miss the non-league experience you got following Alty up to quite recently. That's definitely gone now - segregation, stewards every six feet, no leaning on the fence, security scans outside the ground.

I stopped going to the speedway at Belle Vue when getting in , parking and buying a programme started costing over twenty quid, and i wasn't the only one judging by the paltry attendances they get. I don't buy a programme at Alty or use the catering, but it doesn't seem that many years ago that paying £20 at Luton seemed a helluva a lot of money to watch a football match. £19 at Alty now seems a lot, especially when you look at the state of the place you're paying to go in to.
I go whatever the form however I do tend to agree with your last point in terms of the ground overall it's a bit of a catch 22 with needing the money .... However we have found it for the new lounge and VIP area . I do hope the "common" fan is not being left behind somewhat

I suppose if you don't want to use Twitter (pretty quick for updates ) and you couldn't listen to RR then you have to use something else IE the BBC updates

The facts are a fundraiser was held with the fans to bring a fan zone to the ground . Due to the debacle from the outset of the building of the fan zone and the subsequent domino effect and delay costs have spiraled due to inflation etc etc

Then as the final insult due to a huge gap in the budget to finish the long overdue project decisions were made with no fan consultation

Its been a disaster from the outset so far.

And of course as noted in other threads other projects have been completed ahead of this work

My main feedback is the speed of update. Getting results and quick report up asap is the main thing, it was a bigger issue when there was no live update page either. Info on the first team squad was also missing but is there now.

Speed of updates!  Even JL’s approach of stringing the tweets together to make a match report is better than complete silence. Home page doesn’t even acknowledge the game happened. The fixtures page hasn’t even got the Stockport score up yet. The old site had live text updates so you could catch up part way through the match or afterwards.

Update JL has now updated his site with a copy of the Stoke report so two updates before the official site even has the result available.
full time and proud of it

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Fanatic Zone
« on: July 24, 2022, 04:27:26 PM »
These new plans for the Fan Zone make me absolutely despair. Of course it makes sense on one level for the club to maximise revenue but if the intention is just to replicate the very poor beer selection from the CSH, that will backfire massively. It's so short-sighted not to see what value Libero and other independent food outlets could add to the matchday experience. More than that though, Libero seems to have done more than the club itself to at least try and get the Fan Zone up and running. So for us to boot them out now is really shoddy. Incredibly disappointing.
thank heavens the fans didn't pay for it ..... Oh hang on
