This article appeared in their matchday programme on Saturday.

Thought you might find it interesting as they are again revelling in their survival in the League by one vote.

Indeed very interesting.

Can't understand how Rochdale think they are a 'bigger' club than some mentioned. I think of Rochdale, Macc and Bury as all non league football clubs and hardly 'big' league clubs.

Funny how fans seem to get ideas above their station.

Rochdale average around 2,800. Which is less than about 4 Conference clubs will end up with.

MASSIVE CLUB ROCHDALE !

biggest pile of supremecist(?) bollocks ive read since mein kampf

this is a club with a record for being in the same league for a continuos spell. and thats the bottom league in the league structuring and shows distinct medeocraty in my books

at least the likes of macc have got promoted ot of even that league!

I read somewhere that in their entire 100 year history, they have finished in the top half of their division, an impressive 19 times.

So that's 81 bottom half finishes.

Surely something of which they should be very, very proud.

I read that thread on Confguide and then on the Rochdale board, it's like a tired old rehash of the proper/NLL/Tinpot cliches that despearate fans of washed up former league sides use. I especially liked someone pointing out that if promotion out of Division 2 to Division 1 were judged on support/ground/finance etc then it was very unlikely that Rochdale would ever go up as they would be considered nobodies by most league sides. One day they will be down here and I will be completely underwhelmed with them, much like Torquay coming down. Now if Macc were to come down again....
