Trafford Match Thread

Looks like the starting 11 on Saturday will be the preferred starting 11 against Stafford.

I think it will be

              Thompson

Disney  Lane   Harrison  Short

Johnson Moult Sheridan Peers

          Hulme   Amiss

Some very tough decisions to be made. The quicker Hannigan is fully fit and available the better.

Assuming Lane is meant to be Lynch that's about what I'd go with. Got to be honest and say that the forward line there isn't quite what I'd like in an ideal world, but with Poole and Omotala unavailable I suppose that's natural.

I think Deasy will start and Hancock on the left wing. Other than that it looks pretty much right IMO

Yes you may be right, I was trying to 2nd guess the manager.

Personally I'd have Moult at CB alongside Harrison and Taylor in the middle.

Defo Deasy over Thompson from the Wrexham game I watched. I would start Hannigan to get him much needed minutes, we need him back fit ASAP. I would start Peers and Hulme up top and Hancock on the left. Obviously Poole ( number 10)and Miller ( LW ) would walk into the team when available and when Miller is match fit. The centre mid competition is the strongest I've seen for a while which is exciting. For the bigger games I would go for the ball winners of Richman and Taylor, the games we expect to win I would play the ball passers  of Moult and Sheridan.

Tough call between Amis and Peers up front alongside Hulme, both seem to have acquitted themselves well in pre-season. I assume they'll both get part of the match each.

Interesting to get other fans' takes too - Chester fans rated Peers (as they did Miller, who came through with him) and wished he'd had more time with them.

Any Stockport fan will tell you Amis was pretty lost at times last season - but very much a confidence player who will hopefully enjoy this level.

I think Hancock is the only one that can naturally play out left, so I assume he'll get the nod there.

Looking forward to this game on the eve of the season, like going to Trafford FC, will be a good test as they did well recently against Salford City.

Interested in who PP puts out initially.

It's always a good game against them (especially in recent years when we have become annoyingly closer).  They like to pass it, the pitch will be a bowling green so it could be a decent game.

Hoping to get there touch wood so look forward to seeing a few down there.
