I hope that the board have insisted that Dinanga's transfer deal to Gateshead includes a sell-on clause.....

What was the crowd v Leyton Orient in the FA Cup? My Dad said it was absolutely rammed for that game.

I thought the biggest fa cup crowd was the over 7k we got for the game with Barrow.
Never forget the exhilaration I felt when Bert Lister put us in the lead at the Red Robin Club end (as it was then).

Brian,

The attendance for that FA Cup Second Round tie at Moss Lane back on Saturday, 6th January 1968 was 8,462.

Is that the biggest crowd ever for a league game then? I'm sure the biggest crowd ever was Blackburn in the cup in 1974 (?). Something like 8000+, which seems very scary now, and I was there!

*According to Wiki Record attendance: 10,275, Altrincham Boys vs Sunderland Boys, 28 February 1925[19]

The attendance at Moss Lane for the FA Cup Second Round replay against Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday, 19th December 1973 was 5,021.

That game had a kick-off time of 1:15pm.

7,844.

It was very snug on the Chequers End, as I recall!

Chesterfield put out a much weakened side in their sole Trophy game, a defeat by Coalville Town, and Gyasi wasn't in the squad - so he should be available.

Gyasi is cup-tied for next Saturday's FA Trophy tie, having played for Gloucester City in their 5-1 defeat at Gateshead:

mixed bag for the transfers out. chesterfield havent won since signing ryan colclough, and rochdale lost with mullarkey in defence. but clearly marcus dinanga's signing inspired gateshead to a win even though he wasn't named in the squad.

Apart from defeating us 1-0, that is..!

Two words.

Slight strain.

His 'quad strain' appears to have cleared up rather miraculously:

I'm going to assume this is the first time we've ever signed the son of a former Knobsock Of The Year winner?

Uncanny how that fact was omitted from the official announcement regarding this loan signing...

Talk about scattershot recruitment. That's a total of 14 loanees that have we had this season to date.

Losing 2 excellent loanees and 2 excellent first teamers is absolutely massive - no point talking it down.

We should wait to see how the United youngsters thing pans out - have any of them actually played yet?

The 'top prospect' has had loan spells before - there's no telling whether we'll be 'his club' (hopefully we are)

Welch-Hales and Gyasi on the face of it look good temporary signings - I'll give you that!

It sounds like the Fleetwood lad is here on a very temporary basis.

Hand on heart, are any of the lads we have sent out on loan anywhere near the first team?

We are 13th...for now. Relegation can certainly not be ruled out given the upheaval.

I would get used to Marriott being one of the core of 6 as much as I'd get used to PP being our manager next season - it seems everyone has a price.

If we want to talk about reality...

Well said, that man.

A commendably pragmatic and sensible synopsis.

According to the MEN article:

"It is understood the FA Youth Cup winners will continue to train with United and be available to play for the Under-21s as well as Altrincham."

It's a sobering fact that own goals are now level with Jordan Hulme (on two) in our goalscoring statistics for this season to date.

Does this move constitute a rare instance of a rat joining a sinking ship?!

Rochdale? I mean, Rochdale?! He needs to employ a better agent.

My acrimony is admittedly magnified by my long-standing loathing for that club but the manner of his departure has undoubtedly left a sour taste.

Consequently, I hope that his time at Spotland is downright miserable and he duly proceeds to score an own goal which condemns them to relegation.

Yours, in bitterness.

Rochdale Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Toby Mullarkey from Altrincham for an undisclosed fee.

The defender joins from the National League side on a one-and-a-half-year deal, with a one-year option in the club’s favour.

Mullarkey, who was vice captain for The Robins, is excited to get going.

“I’m delighted to get it over the line,” he commented.

“I’m buzzing to be here and can’t wait to get started.

“There was a bit of interest a few weeks ago. Jim contacted my agent and it’s managed to materialise.

“I’m buzzing to be part of the squad and can’t wait to get stuck in.”

No doubt his 'injury' will have cleared up by the weekend...
