THREE MORE COMMIT TO THE CAUSE
There is more good news from Moss Lane as manager Graham Heathcote has announced that three more members of last season's squad have agreed to stay at the club. They are (pictured, left to right) captain Steve Bushell, defender Karl Munroe and striker Pat McFadden. One player yet to sign on is midfielder Lewis Chalmers who is currently taking part in the Four Nations non-league international tournament in Scotland

Good news about all three I'd say, but most important Karl has decided to stay.

Hopefully Pat will get more match time next season and get that elusive goal.

Hopefully Pat will start scoring, I am hoping Rod gets a bit of a run.

Other than Lewis, who has to put pen too paper? Or is it new players we are after.

I think just the 2 Scotts are unsigned.

Delighted by this....Bushell will be immense in Conference North and I got the Rose/Munroe partnership I hoped for

Just need full backs (esp left) and wingers. Any more? A target man up front maybe?

Yup, ok Bandy going now, like someone else said if we can just persuade Adam Yates and Danny Adams that they made the wrong choice and Wembley finals, promotion and league football are bollocks we'd be ace!

I am so happy about this! Bush will be quality as will Munroe and I also think McFadden will do well in this league.

We've now got a decent spine for the formation, it'll be easier to attract players with these names on the books. I reckon we've got a real chance next season, just need those wingers from somewhere!

I've been giving the winger situation some thought. Given McFadden's pace what do people think about the possibility of him being converted into a winger?

Has Robbie Lawton resigned yet?

Converting Mcfadden to winger, mmm, maybe, he has pace, but not sure on his skill at dribbling. Would prefer to see Rod out on the left to be honest.

It is my fond hope that Warren Peyton will be kept on the left wing next season. He was fantastic at left back last season but I believe we should utilise his attacking ability from now on. All depends on whether we can sign another left back though I suppose.

As things stand, with Lewis not yet signed up for next season, we have a midfield pairing of Val Owen and Steve Bushell (solid) which probably means Lawton will be on the right side of midfield. If this is the case, we need someone like Peyton who can get up and down that wing and put in good crosses.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

Ecky,

I truly hope that your prediction is fulfilled.

I have to say that, for my money, Bushell was a huge disappointment last season.

That thought had crossed my mind- can he put decent crosses in though?

Agree 100%...but bullies get on in this league and he can bully a bit and split the lower standard defences easier

See earlier thread. He's been released by Halifax, the club were said to have made him an offer, GH says this is untrue. So wherever he's going it's not going to be Moss Lane. he says he would like to stay full time but this is unlikely, he may be offered conference football, locality and good money by Farsley Celtic of all people just as Ryan Sugden is. I think Justin Bowler may end up there too for some reason.

thats a shame i thought he had some terrific games last season and the skill and pace he has could really be trouble for the defenders in the bsn

He did, only thing would be that he may struggle against some of the bigger centre-backs
